Nice job ! I was sure Tolgerias was going to slaughter you at least twice as many times.

In my memories, there were more numerous and powerful halflings in the room with the furnaces, including a wizard.

Also in my memories, NPC wizards would only use Power Words on characters whose hit points were low enough, because they were huge cheaters.

This was why the Planar Sphere was my favourite part of BG2.

One side quest. One single side quest.

And the result? Cannibal halflings. Sahaugin. Efreeti. Golems. Tolgerias and friends. Powerful necromancer. Salamanders.

And with that done, you still have to go out into Hell and kill a demon.

All the time, you were thinking, "What the hell have I got myself into?" It seemed as simple as capturing a murderer and ended up going all the way to Hell. But in the end of it all, you were at least 10000-15000 gold richer, and that's not even counting the physical equipment you had to sell.

Do you intend to spend time on the mage stronghold ? I tried it once, but gave up on it after killing all of my apprentices. I don't even remember if a multi-classed PC can have several strongholds.

You can get a few ok items out of it if you're lucky, but it's not really worth the effort imo. If all your apprentices survive, I think one of them stays around and creates free potions for you. I haven't had BG installed simce ~2005 so my memory is a bit unclear.

I don't even remember if a multi-classed PC can have several strongholds.
Once you accept one stronghold, you're locked out of the others. A fighter/mage can have either the keep OR the sphere.

Mage stronghold also gives that +something AC vs slashing weapons belt which is... quite a lot better than what other strongholds give.
