I personally like Albion's art direction. It's simple enough to run decently on mobile devices while looking surprisingly good when zoomed out on PC.

Bought it, it's ok. I guess in a few months / weeks it's another of these games where you don't stand a chance if you don't join a huge clan and turn the game into a full time job :?

It really depends on what do you want to do in the game. If you're interested in PvP, then probably yeah, you have to be a part of a guild/alliance to have any fun, but you can more than survive as a solo crafter/gatherer too.

EDIT: also, lol @ these hour-long queues. (Not so) nice flashback to pre-connected realms WoW lul

EDIT2: you don't need multiple characters on Albion, as you can max everything on a single character.

Btw the breast size of the female chars is retarded. I'm not trying to be feminazi here but this is kinda stupid and makes me feel like I am playing a nerd's masturbation fantasy :<

ok this is really cool. :)
Then again every second thing I've read about Albion is how you should specialise in something since the game systems punish all-rounded characters, especially for crafting :M
Just like in Darkfall everyone can be everything. Unlike in Darkfall, you don't have to. And unlike Darkfall you don't need a year to become viable.

It's like Eve Online, except skill progression is by actively using a thing instead of just waiting.

Strictly speaking, character progression is to some extent gated, as you earn a certain number of learning points per day when on premium, which can be used to insta-level destiny board skills. However, nothing prohibits you just grinding every skill to maximum, so while you have to prioritize some branches of character development early on, you'll be able to master everything eventually if you play the game for a long time.

On an unrelated note, the server seems to be down again, so I guess I'm going to bed for today. Leave suggestions for the headquarter town for the Codexian guild, we might register one tomorrow or something.

Ignore it like a plague! while i am a experienced sandmmo, sandpark player of games Asherson Call, Eve Online and Darkfall, this mmo is hello kitty online managed by the dumbest scumbags i ve seen so far. German Cucks!

This mmo was in beta 3 years (paid beta), everything they learned from that they ignored on launch, and toke the dumbest feedback in consideration as usual. At the same time they made the game with multiplatform in mind, as in PC and mobiles. A FUCKING SANDBOX GUYS! Because of this retardness the game suffers a lot and cant ever recover.

Beside banning some e-gold sellers that are DDOSing them everyday now because they cannot into network security, all the things that can get wrong in the first week did, i mean all of them: server lag, no security on accounts, one gazillion of rollbacks, botting, and so on.... They same exploits and problems from Beta are here again, they even had e-gold sellers in beta, and they didnt develop anything to counter them, not even chat spam.

- While every mmo on launch is a mess, this fucking company still cant keep the servers online more than a few hours even after 2 weeks + of launch, in weekends its hilarious.
- Its full of bots, exploits, very few content, beside some decent full loot pvp which spoiled by a stupid game design which made the meta to play in cloth, for extra damage, so not really viable to play as what you want... unless PVE which is quite non existent (what you find on maps mob camps and few dungeons).
- 1 week after launch to make it harder for gankers to get gatherer in full loot zones, they add a 3 seconds timer to prevent you to attack anybody after you get down from your horse (after 3 years of beta mate!). With this change, this even removes most of the choices of the melee, so all play with the same equipment, armor, with a few diffrences in weapons, so sandbox!!

They also change the game to worse from betas, make maps smaller and pregenerated, persitent housing was removed and TO TOP everything:

You can buy currency with real money, which in a player driven economy is a death move, even if you must progress normal to get certain tiers of equipment, the rest is free to pay to win (buy buildings in towns, materials, get equipment for your guildies, destroy the market and so on)

3 months i give it, before the servers reach 10% of the population they have now and the player driven economy is dead...
I played most of the mmos, but i never seen a launch, where a company failed just about everything, but i could be wrong.

Man these retards triggered me so hard, i ve never seen so much incompetence in years, or ever...

This game was just released on Steam and people were handing out 7 day trials for it so I gave it a go. I could see the appeal of this game if you had a large group of people to play it with, but this game is like a second job. Even with the boost the trial gives you're just repeating the same things over and over and over and over again to level up skills. I was planning on trying the PvP, but I discovered this isn't the Dark Age of Camelot spiritual sequel with its realm vs realm. It didn't seem worth it to grind up to the PvP areas only to get ganked.

There are 2v2 hellgates now so you only need 1 bro to participate in full loot PvP. Also the most recent update introduced respeccing so even the grind isn't what it used to be.

What happened in this game last time? Last time I hear about some update. Worth to try it now? How many active players?

Merlyn update, which went live in July 31, introduced faction based warfare - now you can go to each of the Royal continent's city and associate with it, and after that you'll be able to kill players - with full loot - in blue regions who are also flagged for faction PvP, for a different faction (city). This brought back much action to the Royal continent which was previously just a newbie/bot zone. There is quite a lot of players online, contrary to earlier predictions by some the game didn't die, probably because the devs seem to actually be investing the money they earn back into the game to make it better after a fairly rocky launch. A recent event, which still goes for 20 days or so, rewards a bat mount for daily casual/PvE/gathering activities.

As to whether it's worth to try, it's currently the only other game besides Eve with full loot PvP and a single master server, so that should suffice for an answer for anyone. What Albion currently has which Eve doesn't AFAIK is that Albion's GvG is still going on (Eve, I heard, is just one unified alliance in which guilds don't fight each other anymore, though I can be wrong).

When i looked into Albion Online, the game simply lacked the depth and variety of Eve gameplay. The gameplay is more twitch based and its far more accessible, so it kind of has its place, but Eve is simply on another level of complexity.

Albion Online also has a pretty shitty solution to sieges as those pit two small groups of players chosen by each side against eachother in some sort of moba match, which completely goes against the nature of the open-world territorial pvp gameplay it otherwise wants to provide.

Ah and people still earn way too much exp from instanced daily dungeons. This is decline plain and simple.
