DarkUnderlord said the initial copy did not meet Codex standards [because] it contained too much bile.

I'm trying to absorb this concept, really I am. But it just ain't parsing. I guess this is what happens now that the Codex is a prestigious magazine.

Thanks for the scans though. I laughed, I cried ... mostly I cried.

Honestly, I don't really see a huge difference between this level of prose and George RR Martin's;
Even Martin's worst moments are better than this trash.
Well, you cut my quote short. I then said that Martin's "is certainly somewhat better, but it's only a difference of degree, not a difference in kind." The gap between this and Martin is vanishingly small if you add into the comparison serious works of literature, or even classic works of adventure fiction (Count of Monte Cristo, Treasure Island, Sherlock Holmes, etc.). Once you've decided that reading Martin (or other schlock fantasy) is a reasonable way to kill your time -- as I did from 4th to 12th grade -- then I'm not sure why this book goes in the reject pile rather than the read pile.

I guess the company behind the unabashed promotion of this book makes more than enough to cover the cost of printing this shit none'll buy.

You guys are so totally biased.

I just read the Stolen Throne and it was amazing. Far better than I expected. I cannot wait for this game. I definately have to read The Calling before the game comes out. Wonder if these comics are going to be any good. The PAX comic on the official site is pretty good.

See?

Alright, it has been nearly four days since I sent the final, polished review in to DarkUnderlord, and he still has not responded. I am wondering if I should just go ahead and post the review anyway. I was mostly interested in mainpage coverage because of its potential to cause an uproar among the hardcore Bioware fans. I was also interested to see Gaider's response.

What do you guys think? Should I wait on DU or go ahead and post it?

Came home early from work today and I want to read gaming-related shit. So post the damned thing already!

edit: post it on the Bioware forums too. Lolz would certainly ensue.

DU is an ass. Post it on the biowhore forums first, please. Passive-agressive idiotic biowhore fanboys who pretend they're not ANGRRRY are always much fun in a mind-numbing way.

When did he post that? Anyway, I did not think my review of the book was THAT negative! I did like to point out some negative things, however.

BTW, it's not funny.

Are you talking about my review? It is not supposed to be funny. Gaider is supposed to provide the humor.

I think he's talking about the setting fire to someone is more fun than reading the book part. It was a lame joke.

That is really bad writing.

Would it be a legal issue to post it?

I cannot see why that would be a problem. The review does contain several excerpts from the novel, but that should be covered by fair use.

Well, before I changed it, these were the last two sentences of the review.

If you want my advice, take $20, give it to a street urchin, tell him to turn around, and set him on fire. You will have far more fun with that than reading Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne.
