on another point - isn't it a little generic to assume one value to each faction?
RPGs have always relied on abstraction. We can assume that the player character has a general idea about his standing with a faction, and as VD pointed out, it doesn't cover all the details. If an individual NPC dislikes your character that isn't reflected, nor does it protect your character from betrayal; these details are still played out.
