OK, I've decided to increase my pledge at the last minute. Put it to good use, Doug & co.
If you fund the WiiU port, I will find you.

Why do you insist on making such ludicrious remarks?...
I couldn't care less about the WiiU port (which had been funded by the time I posted here anyway, as Modron pointed out), what I do care about is the fact every single cent they get goes towards making the game better, $900k was the absolute bare minimum they needed.

Why do you take them seriously?

The question is, whether porting the game to another system won't offset any possible money gained as a result.

Are people actually surprised that this got funded? The pledges have followed a pretty standard pattern for these kinds of projects, that grow steadily then rush past the goal in the last few days.

I was fairly surprised on this one too, the games funding plateaued after about the 400k mark and really only the promise(/threat depending on the person) of a wiiU-port seemed to push this over the edge.

Good question, I should post here more often... The Codex is a unique place where ordinary rules do not apply.

Well, here's hoping that won't be the case. While I'm not at all happy with the idea of the team wasting their precious time and resources on the WiiU port, the least I could do was support them and trust that they have planned their expenses properly.

I did. I genuinely believe that they wouldn't make it.

Well, I wasn't just pulling it out of my ass when I said they had about a 95% chance of making it based on where they were halfway through. Based on statistics that Kickstarter released, a great majority of projects that make it to the 1/4 point succeed, and virtually all that make it to 50% do.

I gotta give The Neverhood another spin, I really liked the style and music, but I put it down after going through half a billion screens.

So, Armikrog is coming out in about 2 months from now! (August 18th, Confirmed via backer update today)

Any of you guys back it? Who's looking forward to it?

Personally , I loved Earthworm Jim as a kid, but never got to play Neverhood itself.
When the KS started, I figured I should give it a go, and had a blast. Put money on the project as well.

I have a feeling that if I had played NH as a kid, it would traumatize me- It has some genuinely creepy parts!
But it was still charming as fuck, and had great music too.

definitely did - for the physical edition. loved the neverhood growing up, and skullmonkeys was one of my favorite games of all time. I actually have my original copy, and then I bought another (more pristine) copy about 5-6 years ago. should be awesome!

Homina homina boo da boo

ITZ coming! Today!

I caved and Morgoth'd it. Although I find the lack of "pre-load" on Steam disturbing, meaning they will probably delay it AGAIN.

Delayed to September 30

Hey Everyone--

The Armikrog team has been working around the clock (literally) to get the game polished for release. Our goal is to give you a great game--unfortunately over these past few days we've encountered a few bugs that are going force us to push back the release date. We understand that we've pushed the date back before, and here we are doing it again--but a short term delay in order to give you a great game is better than giving you a frustrating broken version tomorrow.

In our previous updates, we've given you a look behind-the-scenes to see what it takes to make a game like Armikrog -- most of it has been pretty fun stuff. This delay is another facet of that behind-the-scenes look.

Over the past 7 days we've had some new technical issues pop up. Specifically some critical bugs called 'progression stoppers,' where users couldn’t get past certain points in the game. While these bugs continue to be fixable, they just aren't issues that we can ship with. Even this morning the Quality Assurance team kicked back a build due to an early critical bug. Yes, everyone is working through the Labor Day weekend, including our pals in Q.A.

We're confident that all of these issues are fixable. We just need a little more time, so we're pushing the release date back to September 30th.

Hang in there with us -- we know everyone is excited to play Armikrog, and we're excited to see you all play it!

Thanks for all of your support!

Called it. Grimoire: Klay Edition.

I wish just once, just FUCKING ONCE, my cynical predictions would turn out wrong.
