I haven't faced the new ancient undead yet, but I keep hearing horror stories. Are they as tough as people say?

Right now you can meet legion troops very early. You can see my first encounter with them on previous page.
Heavily(for early game - very)armored, tireless, fearless skellingtons that fights in close formation. Much more dangerous than raiders.

Yeah, your update is part of the horror stories :)

I'm guessing you can't inflict injuries on these guys.

Also very resistant to piercing weapons, so even more deadly to low level company dependant on spears.

Sounds terrifying hehe.
I do have some maces and stuff like that though if I ever have to face them. The land around me so far mostly has bandits. I met some ugly ghouls, that's it.

Ancient auxilaries provide cheap early game metal helmets. I think, legionaries meant to be mid game enemies, but somehow they invaded early stages.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire
THE _ GREAT _ ARTIFACT _ HUNT:
What I have found so far adventuring or just shopping around: see two pics.
I'm looking for named(*) falchions, *noble swords, *arming swords, *fighting spears (Dragonlance re-naming opportunity!!!), *two-handers, *flails, awesome Orcish *Great War Axes, maybe a *berserker chain.. and *bows, *crossbows, which latter two were never found so far. Couldn't modify Masterwork Bow stats, it has all its values modded/hardcoded in-house probably, so expert modder-brain needed for that.

Hellhound's Fang dagger is my favorite. Always wanted to start a Backstabbing Expert Ninja-Thief.

Its exciting to give artifacts to newbie mercs and watch them miss and graze the hairs of enemies in their shiny super-equipment and their powered weaponry and see them hacked to pieces by higher lever raiders, wolf riders, orcs, hehehe.

Expert ironman is most fun. Modding stats ruins the fun: only initiative, fatique and HP are safe to raise if "felt desperately important" by DemiGod character lovers[Marvel fans], since a mercenary modded this way will only last a little longer, but will be able to wield heavy weaponry. Its merely satisfying curiosity: - What if the party found a cache of a retired famous band? And tried to use them.

Not modding money for a play-thru campaign is essential to watch people leave and fight for survival. Most interesting is how even modded and artifact stuffed parties can be vanquished by higher level enemies and prowling too long in enemy territory: suddenly hordes of enemies gang up on the powered party grinding them down with food and repair items quickly running out, loosing people as my soldiers are picked off by suddenly much more skilled Orc warriors and wolf riders, raiders, etc.. :D

I've seen a named bow. It was 17k in a shop, and so way out of my new band's price range. It has since disappeared or I'd have screen shotted it for you.

Finally had a chance to play, day 13 so far and it's been rough brothers.

On day 11 some guards tried to take away my killer on the run merc, one my two best fighter. Of course I gave them the finger but this time, for the first time those pesky guards decided to attack me. Oh boy, 3 dudes in full chainmail, kite shields and arming swords, one billhook and one arbalest against my 10 hobos armed with spears and rags. Long story short we did actually managed to kill them with only two casualties and got their sweet sweet kite shields, swords, billhook and ONE chainmail (bastards, I swear I killed three of them with daggers!).

So there I am, thinking this loot got me ahead of the curve and the next bandit thugs will be easy. Next contract, two skulls bandits, and BAM, six raiders and one freaking bandit Leader! Well, he's dead now and we got his heather shield, couldn't kill him with daggers as a tactical retreat allowed me to surround him alone while the other raiders were still far away so I had to kill him FAST.

I've got to say the new resolve mechanics when you surround enemies feels really nice and natural, it encourages you to keep a tight formation and to overwhelm the bad guys when appropriate.

This game is so good:brodex:

I keep reading the tooltip thinking it's changed but it's the same explanatory "this is what renown means", but I still don't really know what it means besides higher=better

2 Permanent Injuries
7 Light Wounds

When I'm in a position to.
Not that it matters, enemy archers seem to have a 75% chance of inflicting an injury on max range, shield walled, +1 height bros.
My own crossbowman has 7 kills in 23 battles.

Is it possible to get two permanent injuries from one fight? Because one of my guys did, I'm 100% sure that was the first time he fell and after the fight he has two (missing ear and missing finger). Coincidentally another one has the exact same two injuries but he got them on different occasions.

Edit: nevermind, it's a different guy, they just have the same look, I need to visit a barber :M

Day 49
For some reason they're happy with my leadership
I guess it's that the casualties have been mostly newcomers who really weren't cut out for it anyway
Like Ivar, who was with us for a whole 6 hours before being killed.

rapsdjff would it at all be possible to fit time of death in the obituary?
7th Dawn
35th Night
49th Afternoon
etc?
