Hi nerds, I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how the design and implementation of a battle royale roguelike.

Something like Cataclysm:DDA but replace the infinite world with a smallish map with an ever shrinking safe zone.

Talking like an actual top-down turn-based game? I'd play it. The idea itself is already one of the most popular action genres on the PC with PUBG and Fortnite and a trillion other ones like them. Even better would be to make it like a Caves of Qud environment, lots of dangerous fauna and flora all around, and also gradually more dangerous AI characters looking to survive.

Deathlands is a multiplayer turn-based survival game where you fight other players to remain the last man standing. If you only play one turn-based game, make it this one, because you'll love it!

Features
  • Easy to learn tutorial!
  • Singleplayer!
  • Multiplayer!
  • Lot's of pixels!
  • Low system requirements, perfect for your laptop, you could even run it on a potato!
  • You can play with people from other continents without worrying about lag because it's turn-based!
  • A few minor bugs but don't worry, 50% of the time, it works everytime!

Though it looks barren in both mechanically and aesthetically, let alone rogulelike-ish systemic things.
