Not really. Humans reach adulthood when they reach their sexual reproduction cycle. It is society that moved this wall into 18 to accomodate for horny teenagers looking to mate with each other like nature intended. And this wall is something that is moving further. Just a year or two ago in Poland people decided that people can't get motorcycle license unless they are 21 which essentially means that 18 is no longer age that gives you full rights of adult.
Same with "social awareness" which accumulates knowledge and behavior that keeps on moving that adulthood barrier.

Now imagine society for next 3000 years into future where problems like fucking animals or S&M being publicly accepted as oral dogpiled over other things and this needs to be thought to kids as without that knowledge they can't be "adults". Suddenly 18 or anything lower than 30 will look weird.
