Patch added multiplayer, and supposedly added heroes, artifacts for the heroes, and a change to the diplomacy system. In pre-1.2 you saw immediately how the AI would reply to any given offer so you could tweak until it agreed. The new system supposedly gives you a vague idea of how the AI will reply, and you send the offer and don't hear back until next turn.

Haven't played since the patch so I dunno if the diplomacy/heroes/artifacts stuff is all in yet or not, but it was supposed to be.

Edit: Looked at the Paradox forum, that stuff's in. http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?620837-The-Lords-(Patch-1.2)

Edit 2: While reading that thread someone mentioned that the different wizards have different AI personalities now. That's nice. Like playing Civilization and knowing Montezuma is up to no good.

It's so basic, it's might as well not even be there.

Non Agression Pact - yet no Open/Closed Borders treaty, meaning you can still trespass and that'll piss them off.
Alliance - they let you walk around in their territory. But there's no allied victory, so in the end...someone will jump the gun.
There is no tech trade etc. Also. AI has strange tendency to DEMAND cash. Now, I don't mind turning them away...except... IT DECLARES WAR IF YOU REJECT.
So yeah. I really enjoyed my Rat King empire of Gold where I just gold my way to victory with Trolls Trolls Trolls and a shit load of cheap army backed with Shadow Bolt spells.

Special Units coming out of Special Resources is pretty overpowered too if you have the gold and food to supply it. Donkeys can be turned into food supply for goblin race - or trading posts for more cash or training Stubborn Knights - those who ride donkeys. Pretty creative. Even Silver can be turned to either money making mine or for Silver Weapon crafstmanship. Choices are good. But the AI cannot exploit them to the fullest.

There's so many types of magic out there that it's damn hard to pinpoint a certain spell as the most useful, but Death Magic is awesome against living creatures but undead are immune to them. While at times playing a summoner wizard I switch to heavy mana production and spam summoned creatures to finish the job.
Three races by default, a fourth if you buy the DLC is plenty of variety for me.

Thanks broheem. I'll be doing this right now.

Edit: oops, turns out I have these CK2 DLC's already.
Never mind, I got this pack for Warlock and Majesty HD anyway. If anyone wants Mongols, Dynasty Shields, Songs of the Holy Land, Songs of Faith, Songs of Albion and the Ruler Designer DLC for CK2 then let me know. I'll gladly give the keys via PM.

I'm really getting interested in Warlocks now. Damn you guys!

Also, Dungeon Siege I & II is really worth it. Best balance of H&S and story quests that I have seen, as they were in II. The only thing that could have made II better for its genre, was to make loot WYSIWYG - but that's not generally the case anyways. I'll be picking up the pack.

EUIII is also on sale, for anyone who cares. I know someone asked if they should play it or CKII first, I'd go for CKII because it has better tutorials. Things like inflation in EUIII you only really learn from other players or trail and error.

Ah should have waited before getting the two Runaways off GOG, heh. But 3's dirt cheap so might as well jump on that

I wanted Warlock too, and the amazon deal is cheaper than steam.
But majesty doesn't interest me and I already have the CKII dlc

You know the drill BROs. Offering:
Crusader Kings II DLC - Dynasty shields/Mongol faces/Ruler designer/songs of Albion/songs of holy land/songs of faith
    Majesty Gold HD
    Majesty 2 collection

As steam keys. No strings attached, no questions asked. PM me if you want one. First come-first serve, but if I get multiple requests for the same key between checking my inbox, I'll claim the BROest person that PM'ed me wrote first :P

    [edit]

    Claimed, the goodies have been.

The only things I bought during the steam sale was the King Arthur Complete collection and the AD&D/NVN anthology...........from Gamestop. :smug:

The problem with the CK/EU stuff is that it's always on offer on GG or Amazon as well...Steam should be for other shit.

I wish I was in the JEWSA to be able to get the DS pack though...WTF 7.50 Euro is not worth it....

... eee... batman fans maybe? Anyway, "the game is not available in your region" (the same goes for Skyrim, by the way), so who cares.

Now the new vote is interesting: Krater, EYE, Sanctum.

Voted Krater, the other 2 have been discounted loads of times already.

Voted for Krater too. EYE sucks and Sanctum was part of one of the indie bundles and is on sale pretty regularly anyway.

Edit: Double Fine package on flash sale. What's the verdict on Stacking and Costume Quest? I have Psychonauts already so I can gift the extra copy for my brother.

Voted EYE because its wonderful weirdness must be sampled by as many people as possible.

Requesting opinion about the Harley Quinn dlc on Batman, I think that one is the first time is discounted.
I enjoyed greatly the game and I plan to replay it in the future anyway, is this DLC worth?

Stacking is very good, every puzzle has a obvious anwser, but the real fun & challenge is getting all the possible solutions.

Costume Quest is surprisingly good although relatively short (maybe 8 hours for the game + DLC). Only one of that bundle I don't own is Stacking -- on the fence there. And yeah even with all of those millions of dollars they can't keep the Steam store stable.

Regarding the Double Fine Bundle, can recommend the games to everyone, each of them has something unique and a different kind of "appeal" to them and each are rather well designed, even Costume Quest was quite alright as "RPG light".
