  • destructible Crystals can now be destroyed with a single melee hit of any damage type
  • lowered damage threshold to interrupt Great Petrifier's eternal petrification power

God bless them.

"we realized we designed something truely horrific so we changed so it can just be steamrolled easily instead"

Looks like my review didn't bring in any new players at all.

Man I hope it bombed. On the one hand, Daedalic are bros, on the other, BG2 is the most inexcusable piece of shit I've played in this decade.

It would be optimal if Blaggardz 2 bombed so they could draw the necessary conclusions from that, but if their other upcoming games (like muh Devil's Men) came out very well so as to not shake the company very badly.

Both the Daedalic forum and the Steam forum have had exactly one post over the past week. This game is dead.

This might be the final nail in the coffin of Dark Eye cRPGs. Unless Larian comes up with a surprise and develops LMK anyway.

SteamSpy estimates the total amount of Blackguards 2 owners on Steam at 10,390 ± 2,643 based on how many people have gone online with the game in their account. Let's see if that's enough to justify a sequel.

Can anyone remind me if the original BG had the same feature of unavailability to use stuff from your inventory during combat?

Have Zubaran court her if he's on the 'good' upgrade path i think.

Yeah, I did. But he says that he's still working on it. Maybe I have to trigger some dialog in some place? (I had one of those in Lorfas)

Is this game really as bad as it is being advertised so vehemently here? Haven't played it yet. Can someone please give me a sensible breakdown? Blackguards 1 was a gem of a game.

It's disappointing as a successor to the first because nearly all changes they made to the formula are a step in the wrong direction. On sale, it may be worth a play through if you like the setting and want to generate some nostalgia about how good the first was in comparison.

It's ok. The step down in character system 'flexibility' and (occasionally) bad encounter design (... one kind of enemy can fly over obstacules, making positioning irrelevant... some of the battles are p tough infinite enemy puzzles and this triggered some people here and also reminded them of the triggering lice battle in Blackguards 1 - the crystal battles).

On the other hand the characterization of the main character is p good. Counter-balanced by the ending c&c being mostly for show (there aren't alternate cinematics, or fallout-style stills of the future events - there is no feedback at all on your choices... but personally i think blackguards 1 ending was even worse lol).
The itemization is worse, with the aside personally found the first blackguards style itemization refreshing in its throwback to Realms of Arkania style low magic (and huge fags here got triggered by it), this is mostly kept, but much item statistic fucking with was done (see Roxor review for details), but not enough to be really memorable (Realms of Arkania doesn't show you any item statistics, you have to infer if something is likely to be magical and what its effect is). There are more armor sets thou - and since spellcasters can use them with a skill now, even more can be used, not that that is a good thing. Also there are more spellcasters only clothes, which i liked.

It's got its heart in the right place (difficulty) even though they tried to streamline things that shouldn't have been streamlined. You can chose any skill from the start, making things a no-brainer (instead of obviously waiting for the good stuff)... Oh and magic always hits which makes it even more OP (more stupid streamlining). So it's a bit of schizophrenic game. Like if the level designers and the game designers were at odds.

Oh, and you really want at least 2 bow specialists with the rain of arrows ability ;)

I think so. The relationship upgrades when you conquer some towns and visit them. So check your conquered towns for upgrade conversations. And don't be a dick obviously, i think it's very easy to fuck up.
