a fun story about Molyneux

In 1982 The new company was named after Molyneux and Edgar's shared astrological symbol, the Taurus. Molyneux was invited to Commodore Europe's headquarters, where he was offered several Amiga systems and a space at a show in Germany. When Molyneux was told that they were anticipating getting his network running on the Amiga, he realised that they had mistaken his company for one called Torus. a producer of networking systems. Molyneux wanted the Amiga systems, so did not inform Commodore of their error. He received them and began writing a database program called Acquisition.Commodore kept asking about the database, and Molyneux gave them excuses because they were threatening to shut Taurus downWhen Acquisition was finished, it was shown at the exhibition in Germany, and won product of the year. 2000 copies were sold to a company in the United States, giving Molyneux and Edgar funds to sustain Taurus

Molyneux not honest even once.

Game concepts by Bullfrog:

Ember – Players would have been piloting a speeder craft to repair a microprocessor chip, competing against a rival trying to undo the player's repairs

Creation - Creation would have had the player battling to transform an alien water world

Void Star – This was to be a 3D RTS game set in space, but was cancelled it was believed that there would be no interest in the concept

Theme Resort, Theme Prison, Theme Ski Resort, Theme Airport – These were "talked about" after the release of Theme Hospital, but never materialised due to Mark Webley and Gary Carr leaving for other companies heme Resort was in development

Genesis: The Hand of God – Intended to be the next instalment in the Populous series but was cancelled due to similarities to Lionhead's Black and White

Dungeon Keeper 3

Tomorrow, Sega will announce a new game developed by Two Point Studios (composed of former Lionhead/Bullfrog and Mucky Foot alumni):

On 30 May 2017, it was announced that Two Point Studios had signed a publishing partnership with Sega,[8][9] and are developing a simulation game whose details are due to be announced in early 2018.[10] The partnership is part of Sega's plan to locate and support talented developers and bring their expertise to the video gaming market.[5][11] John Clark, Sega of Europe's senior vice president of commercial publishing, stated that Two Point Studios' vision is compatible with Sega's principles of franchise creation.

He used the idea in his mobile game Curiosity where players could buy IAP to remove and to add cubes ;)

I know it's almost impossible, but a Startopia sequel would be heaven

I love how so many people always miss out on the non-PC games by Bullfrog.

Flood is the perfect example, it's a platformer where you control a blob-esque creature named Quiffy who's trying to save his world from being submerged.

Only released on the Atari ST and the Amiga. Well worth a play, but... don't complain about the ending.

Ex-Bullfrog/Lionhead people announced a sort of sequel to Theme Hospital today, called "Two Point Hospital"

There's a teaser without any gameplay:

To be published by SEGA. It's pretty sad that it's just a rehash of a game and not an original idea, but I guess that's predictable.

Well, I'll say this about Bullfrog: they weren't afraid to make games "too fucking hard." Dungeon Keeper: The Deeper Dungeons, Populous II, Syndicate: American Revolt - they had a mean streak. I couldn't even finish the first level of American Revolt. You had 4 of your players in 4 different towers... what the hell. There had to be a gimmick, but damned if I could figure it out.

Not a fan personally, though recognise most of their games as undoubtedly good. I used to play stuff like Theme Park and thought it was good I was just never super into the genres Bullfrog placed emphasis in.

Urban Chaos Riot Response wasn't that bad. A bit mediocre but better than modern age military shooters, cover shooters, cinematic shooters etc.

Ok, I won't complain about it. But I will point out that this is a slightly less insulting ending:

You are talking about Atlantic Accelerator mission. You basically use gauss guns and have to defend the map from the oncoming waves of agents. There are also air raid cons, which were added in AR data disk along with clone shields and medikits. And you are correct. There is a pattern of the attacks. After a couple reloads I've finished this mission. To be honest it wasn't as rage inducing as the one that is in Yukon. This is the most hardcore escort mission which end really quickly at the beginning if you aren't quick enough.

Yeah, that was... brutal. I mean, I loved the hell out of Syndicate, but just was not crazy about the American Revolt. Did manage to play Populous II to about mission ... 600 or so. Which I didn't think was bad considering I didn't have a manual and was more or less winging it. Finished the Deeper Dungeons, but that was also brutal. Had to perfectly time traps or it was mission over.
