Surprised there isn't a thread about this here

They are releasing information on classes in sets of 3. The latest was the Heavy Fighters, including the Black Knight http://camelotunchained.com/v2/class-reveal-heavy-fighters/#

Earlier class reveals were the Archers: http://camelotunchained.com/v2/class-reveal-archers/

and the Devout (healers) : http://camelotunchained.com/v2/class-reveal-devout/#

It's really the only game I'm looking forward to atm, but I've got reservations because I think it's been in development since 2011, and it's only in a barebones alpha stage.

Everything looks good on paper. I'll check up on it when, yeah, it's not in alpha and there are videos. Honestly they don't have to change much from DAoC, I would just be fine with a graphics update for DAoC lol.

Scout trio revealed:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6_-_n3Vyeo

Highlights:

General:

-Some kind of back end change, going from 32 bit to 64 bit.

-Store front for game will be revealed next week, live stream, partner reveal next week.

-Scouts classes not combat focused for "killing people."

-Scouts are not a game launch class.

-Scouts can "mark" things with some abilities.

-Scouts in some ways are a PvE class, even though there is no PvE in the game. Scouts do not have to fight to do preform their role. A class for players that aren't as hardcore as others but want to contribute or maybe don't have a guild.

-Scouts are not being designed as the next "buff bot."

-Scouts will have abilities themed to assist crafters with finding nodes and crafting.

-Vision,
Vinson stat: Seeing players

Detection Stat: Based on hearing, being able to be aware of things you may not being able to see.

Concealment stat: How hard or easy it id for player to see you or detect you.

Projectile Tracking: May be effected by you vision of a target.

-Things that are normally marked on maps in other MMOs, example: like a big fight being marked on the map, are automatically be marked, scouts will have to mark things manually for their realm.

-Traps and sabotage
Crafters set up traps, siege weapons and detection fields.
Scouts can sabotage some devices Crafters create.

Specters:

-Start out as a normal character, normal form. Specters go to an area they want to scout, transform into a "Specter form" that is used to scout.
The user’s spectral body gains greatly increased camouflage and movement speed, and may perform Specter abilities.
Arisen:

-Arisens go out and commits suicide to become undead, being undead gives him scouting benefits.

-Has annoying abilities that can be used to harass and hamper enemies. (....great)

-Where the Arisen dies will create a tombstone which the class may have to operate off of to some degree.

Wisp:

- Wisps go to an area with the lantern, deploy the lantern which creates a wisp that you can use to scout an area.

-Player transfers control from you main character to the wisp.

-Your character does not have to be near the lantern to use it.

-Wisp is illumination focused. Highlights enemies for allies to see and coordinate against.

-You can give your lantern to your teammate and someone can carry it. Other realms may be able to steal your lantern and move it.

Allegedly they are planning to release Camelot Unchained in late 2025 (along with an engine and some spinoff extraction and BR game):

MOP reports:

The money quote, for MMORPG fans anyway, is this one: “Unchained’s first game Final Stand: Ragnarok is set to officially launch in Early Access in March. Camelot Unchained is expected to release late next year.” That’s an extremely odd timeline; for starters, Final Stand Ragnarok already went to early access back in 2021, though of course it severely underperformed and has essentially no players or marketing push.

There is also some information on the "Unchained Engine" straight from Marc Jacobs:

"The Unchained Engine can power thousands of simultaneous player-controlled characters and/or NPCS that can perform complex interactions, including combat, animations, and effects in real time in up-close and personal action, in addition to delivering tens of thousands of physically interactive networked gameplay objects and elements simultaneously, all while maintaining a high frame rate, even on older PCs.”
