Yes, it only really applies to js, css and static content like images. We serve a shitload of images here for instance but the impact of that on the server is small in comparison to script execution which uses up CPU power and that's where our bottleneck is.

Yep. CloudFlare results in my login deactivated every half hour (if I'm browsing regularly -- usually I don't check that frequently). It results in those lovely things.
