90 - Crumbling Force

The losses were too much for Yuan Shang army. And they withdrew from the southern battle.

The victorious army regrouped while the smaller divisions were dismissed.

Yuan Shang couldn't even save one of his northern city from the Wuwan tribes.

It appears their resources have been stretched to the limit as an attack on Jibei was carried out by 40,000 troops under General 100% White.

One battle was lost, but another is still raging in Guangling, forcing Yuan Shang to rush another 50,000 reinforcements.

Liu Bei's truce with Yuan Shang has finally lapsed. Now confident with the newly formed truce with Shi Difen's Army, the opportunistic warlord dared to strike at Shouchun.

Guan Yu's elite troop is more than capable of crushing Man Chong and his small garrison.
Barely two weeks later, the siege of Jibei is nearing its end. Its meager defenders received barely any reinforcements.

The troops have finished construction.

Good. Then it's time to attack Ganling.

Leaving a small fortress behind to guard the road to Yie, Shi Difen's army marches towards Ganling, another isolated city of Yuan Shang.

Jibei falls a few days later.

But the battle of Guangling swings towards Yuan Shang's favor once again as the 50,000 reinforcements piled onto the defense of the city.

Sun Quan, not about to surrender this conquest, sends forth another 30,000 from across the river.

Commence the siege.

The isolated the defenders stand little chance of winning against such a superior number.

They lasted two weeks.

Yuan Shang's reinforcements have failed to breakthrough our stronghold in Jieqiao in time.

Just as planned. We'll reverse course and crush them!

91 - One Route to Victory

Rushing to the rescue of his depot in Jieqiao, Shi Difen's 80,000 squares off against Li Yan's 54,000.

They brought archers? Then there is nothing to fear. Charge!

Throwing caution to the wind, the all-cavalry army rushes forth and overwhelmed the main camp.

With their Commander routed, their morale plummets and the remnants could offer little resistance as their main camp was razed to the ground.

Yuan Shang's northern army is still a massive one, but they can ill-afford to split their forces. The siege on Pingyuan by a secondary army has begun. Elsewhere, Guan Yu is in the verge of seizing Shouchun.

While the battle for Yuesui rages on with the defenders taking severe losses.

Alarmed by the sudden shift of fortunes in the southwest, Shi Difen dispatches additional reserves around Chengdu.

Affairs to the south is beyond my control. I've done what I could, let us finish the north before ever returning to the south.

A quick resupply at Ganling and the 80,000 strong army is ready to confront Yuan Shang's force .

Elsewhere, Liu Bei succeeded in expanding.

While the siege of Pingyuan overwhelmingly favors the attackers.

My Lord, good news from Changan! Your daughter has matured into a fine woman!

92 - Scattered Leaves

Looks like another heavy archer army. We can take this. Charge!

Yuan Shang was completely surrounded in his own main camp.

The rest of his army was too slow in coming back to defend their main camp.

With the victory at Guangchan all that's left is to crush the remaining of Yuan Shang's force to the west. And despite the initial success of the siege in Pingyuan, Yuan Shang's reinforcements slowed progress.

Elsewhere, Liu Xun's Army aborted the siege at Yuesui after 60,000 relief troops arrived to aid the defense.

Markman's army of 52,000 continues to stare down Liu Xun's army in Xinye.

Guan Yu marches home victorious, while Sun Quan's siege has broken past the defenses in Guangling. All he needs now is the complete rout of the defenders. With Zhou Yu leading in the front line, victory is certain.

Yuan Shang's downfall is imminent. Let us finish the fight here in the north!

93 - Heavy Price

So, they've split into two. Wu Yu. Take west. Secure the camp and unlock the prayer tactic. Everyone else, we rush for main camp.

Just barely after combat started, Yuan Shang's army pulls off a speed movement tactic.

Wu Yi's advance towards the prayer camp was immediately checked by Yan Liang. A sizable reinforcements also arrive at the main camp, preventing a quick victory.

Abandon the plan. We grind them down. Order Wu Yi to retreat to the main camp. Everyone fall back!

The forested area outside Shi Difen's main camp becomes an arena of bloody combat as both sides rapidly piled bodies.

Just as Yuan Shang's army starts to get whittled down, more reinforcements arrive.

In the midst of the heated battle, Ninjerk challenges Yan Liang to a duel.

With expected result.

Shi Difen's army attempt to seize an advantage was constantly thwarted by Yuan Shang's constant flow of reinforcements.

Double your efforts!

Things start to turn around when the enemy commander's unit was finally routed.

Elsewhere, in the distant riverlands a loyal vassal breathes his last.

Zhou Yu, the Viceroy of Sun Quan died young. His ambitions to lead Sun clan to glory remains unfulfilled.

I've not lost! CHARGE!

Again and again, Shi Difen's army charged at the swarm of Yuan Shang's units but the victims remain stubbornly resilient.

Elsewhere, Pingyuan falls to the siege.

The battle ended after a bloody two months. Yuan Shang's force of roughly 100,000 were decimated to the last man.

Shi Difen's army lost nearly 20,000. Their worst casualty by far in the north.

It was a nice try...but ultimately just a desperate effort. That must've been the last of them.

I wouldn't be so sure.

If you only count Ji, Beiping, Nanpi, Zhongshan and Julu - they still have around 230,000 men left to deploy in the north.

Ugh...then we best hurry while they try to regroup.

94 - Clean House

Seeing the size of Nanpi's garrison, Shi Difen's army prioritizes that city in the conquest.

In the south, Liu Bei's greed overcame him and he finally made the decision to attack Sun Quan instead.

Shi Difen's siege of Nanpi goes unchallenged for a week.

Wei Yan's army of 17,000 attempts to reinforce the city but is delayed by the stronghold constructed at Guangchuan.

At last, Yuan Shang decides he cannot wait any further and marches out to defend the city.

We've taken heavy losses in the previous battle. Use that Major Medic tactic to recover first before taking their walls.

Reinforcements trickled in just as the battle starts.

The defenders did not challenge the destruction of the first camp.

The recovery tactic works and Shi Difen's army is reinforced by 9,000 troops.

Gan Ning and Deng Zhi's unit attempts to attack Shi Difen's main camp, but their units were quickly flanked from the rear by a devastating charge.

Decimate them.

Wei Yan arrives, but it was too late to save Gan Ning's army.

Onward to the second camp! Devastate their morale!

Once again the defenders dare not take action and awaits more reinforcements.

Okay. Let's get ready to scale the walls.

A lone spear unit of 7,500 dared to march on their own. Its pointless existence quickly ceased by the thunderous charge of Shi Difen's cavalry.

Yuan Shang's men appeared to have rediscovered their courage far too late. Demoralized armies begins to file out of the gates, like lambs to the slaughter. Shi Difen's army happily process the soft flesh tissues sent their way.

They've lost their minds. Ignore the walls. Let's finish this.

Outnumbered and demoralized, even a formidable warrior like Wei Yan could do little to stop the rout.

As the last of the defenders were routed outside, Shi Difen's army broke down the already damaged gates, piling in more misery to the defenders.

Yuan Shang charges forth with an army of 19,000 horsemen.

Shi Difen's army quickly tore his formation apart like a pack of wolves.

The last archer unit broke under pressure.

The battle for Nanpi is over with Shi Difen's army having more troops than they started with.

95 - Farewell in the North

Control of Nanpi is established, drafting efforts by Shi Difen's army are already underway.

The populace knew the north is almost beaten, especially with Yuan Shang's capture.

What an average man.

Go ahead. Kill me! My brothers shall avenge me!

Precisely not what we wanted. Let him go.

You will? Seriously?

At this point, executing him will only make post-conquest recruitment more difficult. He's an average commander. There's no sense in making him a martyr.

96 - The Elite

Another elite officer of Yuan Shang is captured.

Enemy reinforcements are approaching Julu.

We're ready. Let's take them on.

Sima Yi's force of 33,000 races towards Hejian, desperate to clear the blockade set up by Shi Difen's forces.

Deploy additional reserves in the north. Give them no chance to rally.

In the south, Liu Bei's army corners Sun Quan's army back in Lujiang.

Shi Difen's secondary reserves were also unleashed from the cities in the north.

Only two units? What a joke. Destroy!

Gao Lan's army was quickly put to the sword.

Sima Yi's force of 30,000 withdrew without fighting a battle. The blockade remains.

Liu Bei's army has defeated all the defenders of Lujiang is now laying siege to the city.

Zhongshan is now under siege. And no reinforcements could be sent from the east.

Inform General White to make a move towards Anguo, take control and construct another camp to slow the enemy down.

The fortification at Hejian will slow down the enemy's advance as White's force tear down Yuan Shang's strong point at Anguo.

Huangzhong, the famed archer general lead an army out of the gates in defense of the city.

They're running out of places to run in the north. Do not lose this momentum.

Gao Gan leads a reinforcement from the west. But Shi Difen's force ignores them and takes down enemy camps in quick succession.

Their morale is ready to collapse. Set up the ladder!

Panicked shouts echo throughout the city as the attackers pushed past the third camp and scaled the walls.

However, Huangzhong, the famed Archer General has a last trick up his sleeve.

Sorry, old man. Your arrows are too slow for my horses. Breach the gate and fall back until their tactic have lost its effect!

The archers stood no chance of catching up as the horsemen retreated out of the city. They finally exhausted themselves and stood their ground.

Now is the time.

A quick charge and the archers were quickly surrounded and decimated.

While General White's blockade was a success.

Nothing left but victory to claim.

Report, a tribal unrest has occurred in the west, a host of 40,000 is not sieging Tianshui!

Bah. Foolishness! Inform War Minister Wang Yi to deploy all nearby reserves and beat them back!
