Has Herve finally found a winner?

From the comments section:
@bdo7 - yes there will be bot combat in the original, MP version - but a true massive single player experience like we are known for will be a stretch goal - assuming we get lucky enough through your support to hit our target.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
We've worked on game that hasn't been released yet. MULTIPLAYER is the heart of Descent: Underground. Herve is involved.

Abandon the space ship!

mindx2 won't back this, I hope.

So far this thing looks nothing like Descent. It's clearly a 6DoF game that was never meant to have anything to do with Descent onto which they slapped the Descent license at the last moment with no effort to even try to conceal that. The best part is that these people come across as completely clueless as to what Descent even is beyond what you could gather from glancing at a couple of screenshots (whether that's how it actually is is another matter), and that none of this stops them from trying to appeal to nostalgia.

And then there's the matter of the multiplayer focus (keeping the scope of the game limited on a small budget is a good idea, but again: their concept of 'modernizing' Descent makes this game the polar opposite of Descent imho), selling the game piecemeal and all that shit.

The pitch is pretty fucking wretched overall in terms of the game being called the way it's called. The Sol Contingency guys should be getting all of this money. This looks like fucking Descent:

Herve is involved.
And how depressing it is that Herve being attached to this project in some form isn't even among the major issues with the pitch.

Star Citizen happened, yet people keep funding such projects. Seems the internet is really not a learning animal.

Jennell Jaquays If I were a backer of a certain kickstarter that has been trending to fail for several weeks now, I might question how many of the $10,000 backers who recently kicked in are going to have to be paid back at full rate once it funds. Three of them have already pulled out once it funded. Meanwhile the managers keep pushing for backers to hit stretch goals.

Serena Nelson Which project is this?

Jennell Jaquays Descent Underground. We've been watching the KS here and at least three $10K backers dropped out AFTER it funded and the management pushed backers to increase pledges to cover stretch goals. We estimated that as much as $35K came OFF the KS AFTER it funded.

The first stretch goal was Funding +$25K. No stretch goals vested.

Oooh, why are they so eager to spy on Descent: Underground? I smell some behind-the-scenes drama.

EDIT: Lol, so much sour grapes in that convo.

Like, there was a competition over crowdfunding support of Interplay? And eventually Olde Skuul losed it, and switched to new IP (Dragons of the Rip) instead of Dragon Wars 2 as a result?

Generally with such low ball numbers you can essentially take 3-4 credit cards set 10k each and when timer hits none of those cards will be charged.

It's probably oldest scam trick in kickstarters history
