I just finished the game.

My biggest gripe with it is definitely the random l00t. Killing the death lord for example gives you some cash and some random items that give you +1 loremaster or shit like that. Yeah, thanks.
The combat was fun at the beginning, but later it becomes obvious which spells are good and all encounters play out the same way. I guess that is problem with all games, so that's why I don't mind it too much.
What I do mind however is that it is too easy to savescum. F8 was probably my most used key during the playthrough. F5, cast blind, fail, F8, cast blind, success, YES!, F5, repeat. I am too weak to resist it.

The story was nothing special and near the end, the combination of wacky plot, random loot and boring encounters made me almost quit.

All in all it was a fun game for the 70 or so hours I played but definitely not worth a second playthrough.

No, i just find you amusing. I agree PoE combat is shit at the moment, and in case you didn't noticed i don't belong to Sawyer's fanboys

I think this story of high profile projects getting money that should be used on small profile projects smells like socialist butthurt. See the Pathologic remake, it is going to pass the 300.000 dollars range and that is for just a remake of a weird game from a weird ruskie studio. If you even have the slightly positive reputation, just enough to prove you aren't a squatter living on a condo, people will give you money. Larian, InExile, Obsidian or other biggies not using kickstarter won't change that reality a single bit so why not get free promotion, word of mouth and free material for codex butthurt and flaming wars?

Wait, you're actually going to play it?
I did pre-order it through Kickstarter. I also have an extra copy I'll be giving away after I redeem one.

I guess I could give both away and wash my hands of the whole thing, but eh.

Yeah after the repeated handjobs you give out, those hands are probably full of little Sawyers by now.

Oh lord this guy has more genius than RK47 :

I'm not really sure where to put this as I'm not sure if it's a cheat or it's a break in the game, but: In trying to find my way through the church barrier I used my high telekinesis to drag the vases on the other side of the barrier up close to it (not through it) where i could actually look inside it. I then put one of the transporting pyramids into it and closed it. Then I activated the other in my inventory and transported across the barrier.

Woot! With the delay of PoE , it automatically makes Divinity: Original Sin 2014 RPG of the year.

Ah, funny. Unless, of course, you are talking about the category "most disappointing RPG of the year", in which case you are right, PoE would have been the most likely candidate for 2014.
