Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
12 hours ago, Deuce Traveler writes: "Dear, Dr Dungeon, I think your game economy is a bit broken. Right now I am mid-game and have purchased all the best weapons and armor, plus an embarrassingly huge amount of special ammunition for my crossbow. I still have 3000 coins and I can't imagine anything I'd want to spend it on."

11 hours ago, Deuce Traveler runs into a shopkeeper with quest items who says, "I'm sorry, but those items cost a total of 25,000 coins. It looks like you do not have enough cash."

I've a wicked wit. :) There's all sorts of weird twists in this game. The idea is not so much the character goes mad, but the PLAYER goes mad! :)

Does anyone remember where that resolution checker went? Someone made it available for download, but I forgot where?

Sorry, but I didn't need the account anymore, so I took it down instead of paying again for another few months of inactivity. I can't remember how big the check was, but if it was under 5MB it should be easily sent via e-mail. DrDungeon , if you can't remember where you put the Checker among your files, I can dive into my old e-mail and see if I can dig it up. If it is bigger than 5MB, I can upload via my bitTorrent program and send folks the tiny Torrent file to make it accessable.

Or you can use Mega. Free account includes 50Gb of space and 10Gb bandwidth. If you don't want to create an account, sent me the file and I'll upload it.

I'm basically trying to get it to Desktop Commander as he or she said they have Windows 8. If the checker works on 8, Madman will also. I'm also thinking Luzur might have gone mad already. He downloaded it this morning and I haven't heard from him since. :)

Yes, my offer to test whether it runs on Win 8 (well, 8.1 to be exact) still stands.

Deuce Traveler My preferred DDL-site for quick&dirty uploads nowadays is zippyshare.com, as it doen't require an account and boasts reasonably fast download speeds - might be worth a try.

Yeah it was 5:05 AM Monday, my time, Luzur downloaded it. Now its 8:42 AM Tuesday. So that's more than 27 hours. It should have run ok; I tested it on a PC older than his with a similar screen. I must admit I'm feeling a little funny that my game might put some people on the psychiatrists couch.

DrDungeon also sent me a new version, so I am starting over with a new character and seeing how many of my suggestions he implemented. If the game is harder, it is because of me. I'm trying to find exploits he can close in order to make the game more challenging to those who play after me. Played a rogue last time, and now a ranger, but think I'll try a monk next.

Good to hear from you, Luzur! I forgot about the timezone. In the beginning, when Tammy asks for the flower and you give it to her, she mentions "Bonnie in Cliffside" and it updates in the journal. Bonnie's the herb and potion specialist. The main point of Tammy (at the start of the game) is to give the player some basic info. Cliffside is immediately west of the first town, Watercross, up near the north cliffs. Exploration and talking to people is encouraged by plopping the adventurer in these two towns at the start. Talking to people and reading books gives a ton of info right at the beginning, then, as I mentioned to Deuce, things slowly but surely get stranger as the player progresses. Have fun!! -Rob

MadMan Beta 4.1 is now in the dropbox. Some changes suggested by my Indie friend have been implemented:

- All characters start with more hit points
- All characters now start with a few cure poison potions
- Early characters vs. weak monsters have a greater initiative, allowing first turn in combat
- Number of monsters near WaterCross cave have been reduced.

When all the testers reach the end of the game, and any other adjustments and tweaks made, Madman will be released within two weeks after.

Aye - I was having that same problem if you get poisoned early. In 4.1 there's fewer monsters near the town, more hitpoints, and a little stock of cure poison for all characters plus the extra hitpoints help. Hopefully the player will now have more time to learn of Bonnie and get there. Her empty vials are cheap and you can pick herbs and make potions pretty easily.
In any case, its just the sort of tweak that I'm looking for to polish the game. If you're not too far in, you might want to restart with beta 4.1. -Rob

yeah, i DL'd the new version and gonna start over.

but, you could make it so poison just set you your HP down and keep it there for awhile, and you have to heal before you sleep or you'll die.

Or the poison only lasts so long before leaving your system, therefore still being a danger, but not potentially lingering for days on end. I also just started a new game, and am nearly back to where I left off in the last version. The start of the game goes much more quickly when you realize the internal logic of the game, what stats and items are most important, and where important items are located. I played a rogue last time, then a ranger for a short time, and now I am playing a monk that I aim to use to the finish.

Just stopping in to say that guaranteed-death-if-not-cured-quickly poison is pretty annoying, especially if it's only curable via consumables. I think Luzur's idea is good though.
