The Stargate SG1 encounter is hilarious. I killed them all and took their guns of course.

Black Angel merchants wouldn't accept your Geiger counter unless it's fully charged. This is vanilla behavior.
Ah, that's why. Can confirm, tried selling other stuff instead and they finally accept it. Thanks.

Also, case you missed it
Also, just confirmed a bug when
trying to kill Chuck in the basement. I initiate combat and then used aimed shot at him. When he didn't die in one hit, at my turn when I clicked at him with another aimed shot, the screen just goes black, with some of the fire from the nearby torches and red lines around Chuck visible. Happened twice in a row.

For anyone wanting to play the game in windowed borderless fullscreen with a viewpoint close to the original:

Go to the installation folder, open f2_res.ini with a text editor and set:
SCALE_2X=1 to scale the game x2.
WINDOWED=1 to enable windowed mode.
WINDOWED_FULLSCREEN=1 to enable windowed borderless fullscreen.

You can also set:
IFACE_BAR_SIDES_ORI=1 for a better looking UI.

If i play on windowed i get a strange bug that makes the game freeze when it needs to show animations, and resume once they they are done playing.

I don't have any freezing problems, but it may depend on the gfx card. Maybe you need to change it to the directx9 renderer (The default is direct draw 7)
set GRAPHICS_MODE=2 to enable DirectX9 mode.

Freezing during the enemy turn? Either compatibility mode or what Ghostdog said fixed that for me. I have Mode=5 set in ddraw.ini, not sure what the difference exactly is between stuff in ddraw.ini and f2_res.ini, but try both if it doesn't help.

It seems they have combined sfall with the resolution patch, thus the 2 .ini files.

ddraw.ini overlaps the f2_res.ini. If you set mode=0 in ddraw.ini then f2_res.ini handles the resolution settings, otherwise ddraw.ini handles them. If you want x2 scaling and windowed fullscreen, then it's best to leave f2_res.ini in charge.

Another interesting setting in the ddraw.ini is that you can increase game speed. I've set it to 150%.

Also have in mind that by pressing left Shift you highlight all pickable objects on the ground (unfortunately that doesn't include enemy carcasses.)

So I'm on 12" 1280x800 laptop, running this under wine. Directx9 - sfall works fine but switching to native res is unbearably slow, especially when scrolling. What settings to you graphics gurus suggest? GPU is Intel MHD4500.

Set mode=0 in ddraw.ini and try GRAPHICS_MODE=1 or 2 in f2_res.ini.

Almost done my Unarmed+Dumb run. I'd say it's a viable build. Combat doesn't seem very difficult even on the hardest setting. Took Gifted+Small Frame Traits. Endurance/Agility/Luck is maxed + Strength is 7. Intelligence is 3 and dumped Charisma. Perception is 6 for decent combat sequence. I'm limited to a single companion, so I usually run from large fights that are out in the open. Closed spaces aren't a problem because you can use choke points to wear them down. I'm using melee a bit more often now for the knockback. I stand just inside a room and smack the enemies back outside.
I was able to clear the Mexican casino and kill most of the Albuquerque hospital mercs on my own. Left a few doctors alive so the stupid tribal attack survives when they storm the place.
Playing a stupid character makes some of the dialogue funny, but I'd say the experience is more like Fallout than Fallout 2. There just aren't a whole lot of quests possible. NPCs mostly just insult you, or tell you to go away.

And ghostdog if you want a bit more thorough description of how f2_res and ddraw can play together and alternative ways to change the resolution. Link. F2_res window mode traps the mouse cursor for me on multiple monitors, and I like the fact that you can independently set window resolution and game resolution using that method.

Lhynn, try using dx9 mode in ddraw, and setting f2_res mode to 0 and 8 bit color.

Dexter, I got weird lag using dx9 fullscreen in ddraw, try dx9 windowed. Don't forget to set f2_res to pass window rendering off to ddraw.

Hey HoboForEternity I saw your post about

the PROGEMA facility on the FO 1.5 boards. You mentioned that you can
[...] repair the bot in the 3rd floor and have him clear the rubble, access a terminal and find a recording.
What rubble can the bot clear? The only one I can interact with, just outside the bot's bay and to the left, does nothing. Also, by recording do you mean the holodisk that the PC can find on level 1, or is there a recording that the Robobrain you control can find? There's this terminal that is powered but isn't accessible to the Robobrain on the 3rd floor; is that what you mean? I don't have any option to clear the rubble in front of the door giving access to it. Helpz!

/No Hobo, but I can answer just the same. You can repair another robot on the third floor with your robot. He'll start clearing rubble automaitcally. As for the recording, you'll see once you've repaired the other robot.

there is a
dying big robot on the floor when you control the robobrain. (it's sprawled on the floor, moving a bit) you can use your repair skill and click on it

Is there any quests leading to PROGEMA, or is it entirely optional like the lower floors of West-Tek/the Glow?

No quests that I know of, but there is a holodisk in vault 16 (on the mutant hunter scientists, IIRC) that tells you of a facility to the west. So it's not there only for random explorers to find, which is what I thought as I first found it while clearing every bit of black from the map.
