"The bad guys are flag-waving regligious conservatives.", yeah right. Not only have they modified the US flag by replacing the stars with their own symbol, in the background you can also see them flying their cult flag above the national flag. No genuing patriot would ever do either of these!
The church as well doesn't display the christian cross, only the cult logo. Pretty sure this is just a bog-standard personality cult that's using nationalism and religion as trappings without being sincere about either.

This kind of symbolism is probably to subtle for SJWs to notice though.

I'm eager to find out how they will justify their presence in Montana of all places, unless it's some kind of post-apocalyptic scenario. Despite what concerned gun-controllers think, an actual dangerous organized group of redneck gun nuts woud alert the feds pretty quickly, as the Waco siege shows. This being a Far Cry game, there will be probably dozens of mooks to kill and the whole thing will be more hilarious than the Tomb Raider reboot, where the local cult of stranded woman-killing sailors had apparently discovered the secrets of gay pregnancy.

Probably will either have the PC be a cop looking into the cult stuff which is my most preferred option while the other is to just make it so that the cult has ties with the government which stops the feds from doing anything.

Either that or have the city be turned into a warzone and the government decides to encircle the place and do nothing while people are dying inside. It seems to be the option most Openworld games go for.

I wonder what did Ubisoft's PR guy and commercial managment think when they decided to show game this way just after Outlast 2 was released with very similliar things (Amercan religious cult with mad people).
Most possibly just an accident, but bad for Ubisoft.

this COULD be a pagan min situation, where the villain is actually the most sensible character in the entire game, but i really, really doubt it.
