Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Even they didn't have the balls to call it "Islamic State Defense" rather than the abbreviated "IS Defense"

Turret Section: The Game. They ain't even trying anymore, edgy theme and decent presentation is all they're got.

Well, they are trying really hard to stay relevant, but I seriously doubt anyone will give a fuck about them being edgy second time around.

Yeah, game looks a bit shit. On the other hand apparently it's a "side project" and they're working on some bigger release for 2017:
„IS Defense” is a game set in politically-fictional 2020 – where the expansion of ISIS went out of hand. They took over all of Northern Africa, spreading their genocidal understanding of the world’s order. Strongly armed, vast in numbers and prepared for everything, the Islamic State is launching the invasion upon Europe, over the entire Mediterranean Sea.

The player takes the role of NATO’s stationary machine-gun operator, deployed to defend the shores of Europe. His task is to blast as many of the invaders as possible, until his glorious death. To do so, he has NATO support forces, his Machinegun and Rocket Launcher at his disposal. During the progress of this heroic defense, he gets the opportunities to upgrade his gear, his body and army rank – which affects the efficiency of the called support.

This game is our small side-project and is our personal veto against what is happening in the Middle East nowadays. As well as an attempt at resurrecting a pretty dead genre of games like „Operation Wolf” or „Beach Head” – in a state of the art, modern adaptation.

Anyway, I can't wait for the hand-wringing from the usual people.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
You can't play as IS :decline:

I always pick dunecoon factions in every game that allows it. Insurgency, Battlefield, C&C, ect. Looping my favorite nasheeds and sometimes the battlefield 2 mec theme while sending infidels to hell is my guilty pleasure.

This game isn't edgy enough. I expected more from these folks.

I really hope this game is not going to be anywhere near $30 or $60. There are mobile games that are exactly like these that are free.

Their comments on Facebook:

Honestly, that sounds like a pretty bad game. You took the worst of the Shooting genre (mounted guns without movement or anything interesting) and make a game out of it. Seriously?

--Yep, why not? It's our small side-project, it's cheap and pretty fun for 2-3 hours.

--6,66 Eur for pre-order, fair?

Seems like they've got something bigger to show off eventually. I doubt it will be any good, but at least it won't be all turret sections, I should hope.

Destructive Creations=Edgy casual games. I enjoyed Hatred but IS Defense looks like something shitty, "turret shooter"..wtf? I would prefer if they made another "isometric" shooter but with more variety in gameplay. In the trailer, when I saw the map in the beginning the first thing that came to my mind(maybe because of the title) -> "OMG! X-com clone in SHTF times muslimised Europe" now that would be cool and and way more egdy and butthurt inducing.

I take issue with the notion that this game is edgy or controversial. Compared to the jingoism and xenophobic paranoia of your typical Call of Duty game, the premise of this game almost seems grounded. Or is it controversial precisely because it hits too close to home?

That's exactly the point (from the standpoint of people who would be offended by this).

Remember this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Days_in_Fallujah

The marines who actually served in a war wanted to create a game as a sort of virtual memoire of their experience and even when the game was finished no one would publish it.

The sad thing was that they eventually managed to publish a small multiplayer game called Breach later on, and it was shitty and broken. I think there may have been other reasons why nobody would publish Six Days in Fallujah...

Jingoistic military shooters are kosher=> you serve the Jew by invading muslim countries and bringing "democracy". Defending Europe from muslim hordes has a bit defferent vibe(especially in the context of current events)=>this is something a stormfag or a /pol/ poster could find appealing. It may look similar at first glance but SJWs look at every tiny detail and might find it more problematic than the hated but somewhat more tolerable classic dudebro americanism.

It's why people don't mind crazy violence, but showing a real death is crossing the line.

You hit too close to home and it's no longer a silly game, regardless of what subject it is.
