God, yes. The maps and the AI play into it nicely as well. With smart planning, situational awareness, and a little good fortune, you can do anything from taking out a well-defended target, to systematically dismantling an entire base, without taking a scratch.
Too bad it ignores the elaborate wind system, and counter-snipers are few and far between... I wish there were mod efforts directed toward that, instead of trying to "fix" what happens if you slam into an outpost face-first.
Jagged Alliance 2 with the latest version of the AIMNAS mod allows you to snipe people from 1-2 Km. Turn based isometric sniping also counts, right?
