I cant believe they took the name from that fucking book, it was so goddamn boring. Or it may be a coincidence... or maybe they named it after the statue. Somehow doubt it.

For those that didnt have the pleasure of attending glorious Polish schools: its a novella by E. Orzeszkowa full of pathos, honour and fight for independence.

On the home page is some information: http://gloriavictisgame.com/index_en.php
  • free MMORPG,
  • the world of Middle Ages, in which magic is not a common tool but rather serves as elite force – its concept is based on the real world rites and beliefs of those times,
  • a dedicated non-target system featuring virtual replicas of weapons in close combat, projectile and mounted fight,
  • an unrestricted character development and progress (no classes or professions limiting player’s choice),
  • a mature story focused on serious themes,
  • complex, non-linear quests, enabling the player to change the story as well as the attitude of Non Player Characters,
  • dedicated mini-games as optional (and highly profitable) ways of solving puzzles available in the game (another option is to try and solve the puzzle automatically, using player character’s skill),
  • 10 different crafting systems, providing players with items to use in the internal economy of the game,
  • Unity 3D engine responsible for rendering graphics using shaders version 2.0 as well as 3.0.
Soon to be released new video from the game and new Dev Diary.
I talk with the Black Eye team, and they tell me something more abut the game:
  • In the game you can buy a room, perhaps we will be able to have your own land with the house
  • We have three opposing factions: Ethersians, Aasks, Nuncjans
  • They still working on the weather system and graphics
  • There are knightly orders
  • Libraries have to be elite
  • In the game we have achievements and calendar
  • You can climb, for example in game we have ladder
  • There are mini games
  • Perhaps player will be able to exercise a social function
  • They are trying to create a game as the most arcade, requiring more skill than the player character levels.
  • In the game you have to change the music when you change the region, etc. But the sheer sound director is also a very good thing, on the Game Day they had the pleasure of a long talk with one of the sound engineers working on The Witcher, they learned a lot of great things, they want to use it in the game
  • The storyline is one of the most important things in their project
  • We can fight for cities, villages and fortresses
  • Guilds will be able to have their headquarters, conquered with cold steel and siege engines.
  • While traveling around the game world will meet chroniclers and their writings. In the game, we can find various types of artifacts
  • NPCs are designed together with their custom, the dialogue among themselves, etc. At this point, they already have a working system shares NPCs remains to combine it with hourly / weather system. NPC's react to the weather
  • The game will be fully dubbed. At first, in Polish
  • In the game you can fight on mounts

It's the same plants/flowers as in Oblivion. Edit: Trees too
: x

Are you saying that a polish company stole something!? Don't be preposterous. That'd be like GOG shipping games with scene cracks (without shoutouts to the l33t d00dz) or the TWitcher2 devs having released pirated software a few years ago!

Ladders aren't all, DarkUnderlord!

  • In the game we have achievements and calendar
  • You can climb, for example in game we have ladder
  • There are mini games

Perhaps you will be able to exercise a social function! And the game will have calendar! :incline:

Dude, "gloria victis" is a popular, well known Latin phrase, just like, say, "Alea iacta est". I'd be pretty damn surprised if the title has anything to do with Orzeszkowa or was a reference to anything in particular at all, the phrase is self-referential and well established. Even more likely considering that the game has a semi-realistic medieval setting and such a setting should be always full of all things Latin*.

*We have only the barbarous latin-ignorant hordes from across the ocean to thank for the fact it usually isn't, the Krauts and other euro devs often do it right.

What Comrade Monacuse Said, as to screans have nothing against tasteful nudity as long as is done in realistic contects... Like being attacked or arrested for showing to much skin in public. Good to see there's no Chain Bikinis nonsense.

You surely mean "vae victis" is a popular well known phrase, gloria victis isnt. There is only that sculpture IIRC.
