The end bosses were hard? Guess my battlemage build was overpowered, the FoV finale involved about ten seconds of magic blast/magic missile/thousand strikes rape. Both of them together hardly got a hit in, and this was on nightmare.

For contrast, I spent the first ten hours of the game whimpering and setting the difficulty to easy/normal every time I stumbled across a mob of more than two people.

Apart from things like interface not designed for the control impaired gaypad?

Shadow rendering looks purty, even though it's computationally intensive (but hey, what did you expect from gaybryo?).

Yeap, none of the ending bosses were hard with archer or mage. I just picked up my pure warrior playthrough I started a while ago and this build seems to be the hardest one so far. I've yet to pick up a really powerful weapon though.

I got my ass kicked from Bhaal with my mage/warrior (mostly mage) but that was in insane level. Basically he killed me the same way I kill many enemies : insta-death with magic blast, kinda ironic. I just didn't have enough hitpoints to withstand the attack and I had close to 900 hp. How many hitpoints do you fucking need to take on Bhaal in insane anyway ?

So, I decided to go and capture a couple more flying fortresses before getting back to him.

Didn't immediately see an answer to this so I'll ask again/too. When I get through the original campaign in DKS, how does the expansion stuff pick up? Can I import my dude into the expansion campaign but have to start a new game from it, does the game just keep rolling and transition into the expansion, or what?

Since I've actually been playing a chunk of it now (Since a game isn't for reals until it's on Steam) I've been enjoying it. Combat was kinda rough for my warrior until I spent half my gold buying a two-handed sword, now I'm a rape machine with charge and whirlwind.

With DKS, game keeps rolling on.

You only need to import if you have Ego Draconis + Flames of Vengeance seperately installed.

Game keeps rolling after the end and into the expansion.

Ability to start right from the beginning of the expansion is more of a nod towards those who have played the base game already, but misplaced their saves, or have DKS incompatible saves. You are expected to have played and finished the game when starting the expansion, nothing is spelled out for you, and there is massive spoiler right at the start if you haven't finished the main game, so starting the expansion without completing the base game is extremely ill advised.

Just got this over the weekend. I have to say that I'm quite impressed. Strong character-building mechanics that seem to have a reasonable amount of freedom, great combat and highly balanced difficulty, and while the quest design is fairly standard so far, even something as simple as being able to come up with alternate solutions by finding items hidden in the environment or by reading the minds of NPCs is a great addition that makes things feel a lot more open even if for the most part quests never really go beyond the "side with one or the other" framework. Obviously it doesn't have the polish of higher-budget games, but I'm more than willing to accept that when the game is just so goddamn fun.

Yep. RUN IN A STRAIGHT LINE TOWARD JAGON AND PUSH HIM THE FUCK OVER.

Also learned the trail of corpses thing, but just charging the fucker seemed to work better for me.

Once I got to the end of the expansion and dealt with the shitty dragon sequence everything was fine.

I think the game could benefit from a bit more C&C and varying endings and maybe some more quests with different outcomes. It was still tons of fun though especially when compared to a TWitcher or DA2.

You can avoid poison almost completely by following the trail (you'll only get some when crossing to the other side).

Divinity II is really a great game, the quest may not be creative, but are very well done. The game world also feels alive, is fun and makes sense to explore every bit of the map, unlike DA, where exploring dungeons was just going after some loot hidden there by game designers.

The only issue I had until now is the "adds XX damage" weapon enchantment. Is ridicously overpowered, at the start of the game I had weapons dealing 4-6 damage, but suddenly I found a lv 6 sword that deals +30 damage! My dude was a mage, but I could kill anything just using the rush attack, even those annoying "beholders". That Blood Echelon sword, giving +65 damage + set bonus was also waaaaaay to powerfull. Made me create a dual-wielding battlemage.

Yup, summon a ghost, pop a healing potion and give him hell. :D

When I played a two-handed warrior the only twohander with +50 damage enchantment I found in ED was the Scorpion sword.

The expansion, though, has plenty of ridiculous weapons for sale.

You can remove the enchantments and apply them to other weapons, though. My two-weapon mage had +100 magic damage on both weapons by the end, shit was ridiculous.

Besides those and the enchantments that drain mana or health, all other are useless....why should I use "10% of chance of poisoning for 20 damage" instead of "+30 every hit"?

But still, is my only complain until now! (just became a Dragon, U MAD DA2?) :smug:

Just finished another run and only now encountered a hilarious easter egg in the ending:

Typical for Larian to add some lulz to what is supposed to be a dramatic ending.

Ending fight was the easiest I've had so far as well. No matter how powerful rangers & mages are, in the end they're still kinda glass cannons. With my pure warrior I could just rush in and rape everything with a maxed Whirlwind without losing any health due to Life leech.
