Wizardry 7 is the ultimate storyfag RPG: original setting, lots of C&Cs, multiple endings. Daggerfall works too - politics, intrigue, numerous factions and outcomes.

RPGs that can be satisfying for a storyfag?

Torment Storyfag power level: :4/5:
Best storyfag RPG ever, major problem is that the story sometimes like to railroad you what lead people to unfairly criticize it as being JRPG like, that is just codex KKK edgyness, all JRPGs are uther crap compared with this game on the story department.

Bloodlines Storyfag power level::3/5:
Pretty good writing on this game and the atmosphere is top notch. You will have fun doing the quests that most have interesting characters and very disturbing enemies, Troika used well the Vampire Masquerade lore, however be warned that the main plot is all over the place and kinda falls apart near the end where you are forced on corridor areas mowing down mooks.

Kotor 2 Storyfag power level::3/5:
The story is kinda strange, it is kinda Avellone wanted to do a reimagining of how the force operated to be something more interesting but he gave up half way through. The second half of the game is kinda aimless and the ending is rushed so you finish the game without a clear idea what was all that stuff was about but this game has Kreia, Avellone writing and some pretty interesting areas to explore. I would give :4/5: if the other characters weren't so underdeveloped in comparison to Kreia and the plot was more tight and clear. While the combat is crap, there is decent fun to be had exploring shit and enjoying well done Star Wars.

Mask of the Betrayer Storyfag power level::4/5:
Best game Obsidian ever made, if it wasn't an expansion but a full title , it could challenge Torment's supremacy. Obviously, Obsidian being Obsidian, most of the people responsible for the awesomeness of this game don't work there anymore. I dream an alternate reality where the people with talent were the ones given charge at Obsidian.

Fallout New Vegas Storyfag power level: :2/5:, Old World Blues and Dead Money::3/5:, Honest Hearts::2/5:, Lonesome road::2/5:

New Vegas isn't exactly a good storyfag game, most of the story is pretty mediocre actually and the writing is average BUT it was done based on the old vision of the true Fallout 3 that was cancelled and because of that, the world design is pretty interesting, interesting enough to make it an worthy game for a storyfag, my major complaint is that the main plot is a waste of time. Old World Blues and Dead Money however, are pretty good storyfag DLCs even if they are almost the polar opposite in tone.

Kotor 1, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1,Mass Effect 2, Baldur's Gate 1, Baldur's Gate 2 Storyfag Power Level: :2/5:

Bioware deserves an honorary mention, yeah, the story on their games is mostly melodramatic cringe worthy camp and they have an unhealthy obcession for cliche plots and when they try to "innovate", they just produce non sense but still, compared with the uther shit produced out there, their games can still be enjoyable even if they aren't exactly well written and require some dose of lower expectations.

Where expecting basics is considered perfectionism
upon further consideration, any game with emphasis on story is bound to have weak gameplay and a mediocre story at best. read a book instead

Books don't have C&C (unless they are cyoa books). And those cyoa books mostly have a mediocre story.

books prepare you for playing life, which is more satisfying and much more hardcore than any cRPG

If life was satisfying i wouldn't need to play games at all.

Honest Hearts was better than Old World Blues imo.
Nope.
I agree with persianronin, HH>OWB.
Crazy pre war doctors turned robots written by Avellone > shitty tribals, HH was full of fetch quests, had a shitty ending, Joshuam Graham had an interesting backstory but doesn't do anything interesting in the game, what is becomming typical of Obsidian games lately, the tribes were "insert generic amerind sounding tribe here" only thing that saves it was the Survivalist Diaries that are indeed interesting but the rest of the content was mediocre. The premise was great but the execution was a disappointment.

Never got used to them foreign covers, looks nowt like Lone Wolf o Gary Chalk.

That's the original First Edition cover IIRC

Not in England wi had original Gary Chalk drawin same as illustrations in book, Lone Wolf's dressed in green wi his hood up in a forest, foot on dead Giak, same as miniature Citadel brought out.
