I am here to mention the Witcher series. Especially the c&c is interesting, as consequences are not a binary predictable outcome of choice that is all too well informed, but rather more an chaotic avalanche that often leads to outcomes you could not predict.

Also the atmosphere of the setting is pretty unique as it simply delivers this alternate form of fantasy that is more based on slavic folklore in its unfiltered form.

if a bit racist towards asian people.
wat

There was a major outcry at the release of Jade Empire because the storyline is basically asian racial clichees lined up in a chain. Cultural appropiation, overstylized and unrealistic depiction of asian culture, bla bla. Those people should fuck off though, its fucking fantasy. A pop culture product. Look at Hollywood or music industry, its full of that stuff. Nobody cares.

I didn't mind that. If I would, then what would I be doing here? ;)

Expedition: Conquistador hasn't been said? Seriously, you can fucking kill a little girl depending on the choices you make. The writing for that is pretty fucking brutal too. Ending is pretty bad, though.

RPGs that can be satisfying for a storyfag?

Torment Storyfag power level: :4/5:
Best storyfag RPG ever, major problem is that the story sometimes like to railroad you what lead people to unfairly criticize it as being JRPG like, that is just codex KKK edgyness, all JRPGs are uther crap compared with this game on the story department.

Bloodlines Storyfag power level::3/5:
Pretty good writing on this game and the atmosphere is top notch. You will have fun doing the quests that most have interesting characters and very disturbing enemies, Troika used well the Vampire Masquerade lore, however be warned that the main plot is all over the place and kinda falls apart near the end where you are forced on corridor areas mowing down mooks.

Kotor 2 Storyfag power level::3/5:
The story is kinda strange, it is kinda Avellone wanted to do a reimagining of how the force operated to be something more interesting but he gave up half way through. The second half of the game is kinda aimless and the ending is rushed so you finish the game without a clear idea what was all that stuff was about but this game has Kreia, Avellone writing and some pretty interesting areas to explore. I would give :4/5: if the other characters weren't so underdeveloped in comparison to Kreia and the plot was more tight and clear. While the combat is crap, there is decent fun to be had exploring shit and enjoying well done Star Wars.

Mask of the Betrayer Storyfag power level::4/5:
Best game Obsidian ever made, if it wasn't an expansion but a full title , it could challenge Torment's supremacy. Obviously, Obsidian being Obsidian, most of the people responsible for the awesomeness of this game don't work there anymore. I dream an alternate reality where the people with talent were the ones given charge at Obsidian.

Fallout New Vegas Storyfag power level: :2/5:, Old World Blues and Dead Money::3/5:, Honest Hearts::2/5:, Lonesome road::2/5:

New Vegas isn't exactly a good storyfag game, most of the story is pretty mediocre actually and the writing is average BUT it was done based on the old vision of the true Fallout 3 that was cancelled and because of that, the world design is pretty interesting, interesting enough to make it an worthy game for a storyfag, my major complaint is that the main plot is a waste of time. Old World Blues and Dead Money however, are pretty good storyfag DLCs even if they are almost the polar opposite in tone.

Kotor 1, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1,Mass Effect 2, Baldur's Gate 1, Baldur's Gate 2 Storyfag Power Level: :2/5:

Bioware deserves an honorary mention, yeah, the story on their games is mostly melodramatic cringe worthy camp and they have an unhealthy obcession for cliche plots and when they try to "innovate", they just produce non sense but still, compared with the uther shit produced out there, their games can still be enjoyable even if they aren't exactly well written and require some dose of lower expectations.

Wait...so no RPG hits 5/5?

Is there anything decent, new and relatively obscure?

Disco Elysium, the ultimate storyfag game and a worthy successor to Planescape: Torment

The Witchers, all three of them, plus expansions

Vampyr

Spiders games, among them Mars: War Logs and Technomancer have the most interesting plots and world.
