I loved this shit. No specific quest or anything. I just went wandering along the coast, ran into some tough cultsits and dived into the water to find a motherfucking undercity city (okay, a little temple) with a broken godhead that speaks to me. That's fantasy, bitches.

L4D2 absolutely fucked the atmosphere :decline:

This scene was creepy. I loved the time travel aspects of FFVIII

This fucking spell never went the way you wanted it to

But really, the whole game was great to just relax to, just like...

A lot of that is down to atmosphere, particularly the excellent OST.

Pour one out :bro:

I remember how I reacted when I first played this, I think I screamed like a little girl.

I've played many excellent games since then and had a lot of good memories, but I still remember this one every time I look back on my favourite moments in gaming.

TIE Fighter CD is such pure incline it is almost impossible to put it into words. Here's another fucking awesome moment from an earlier campaign. Betrayed by your superiors and forced to hold out until Thrawn comes to save you:

Story? Drama? Fuck BioWare, these guys were doing it first and they set such a high standard.

This has got to be right up there, just the opening scene and then you start the game waking up on the slab. As cliche as some of the ideas were, it really hasn't been done in a better way. Atmosphere through the roof, creepy music, art nailing down the mood nearly to perfection. Then a wise-cracking skull comes floating up. Boom, you're hooked.

I thought it was a nice old-schoolish fps, and it is generally very well received and has a lot of fans.

You are playing a Cherokee who fights aliens in their mothership with the help of ancient indian spirits. At some points you also use portals and gravity anomalies.

So you may wanna try it, just for its originality. Plus they licenced some cool tracks like Don't Fear the Reaper which makes this intro pretty awesome.
