Thanks for the clarification. But why Joel (who at that time swore to send them to everyone) and said he only needed to get the poly bags and was ready to ship... why did he not send them?

If it was for the lack of cash, then why on the google hangout he said he had funds to complete the game... but not funds to ship the tshirts which were the least you could do for the backers who lost so much money?

And one last word of advice James, both your name and past and future projects are tarred with fail, deceit and distrust that people will either mock you or never trust you again... so my advice is that you forget making any game whatsoever with your James Proctor handle/name, make a game in oblivion hidden away from everything/everyone/media and when it is ready and functional you come out and say: Hey guys, this is the game I promised to make and here it is.

That way you have a good chance of people believing you can make games and will show the naysayers that your persistence has paid off.

Otherwise the gaming community will sabotage any project you have and the negativism surrounding you, Jason and anything Greed Monger will not affect you emotionally thus making a self fulfilling prophecy of failure before you even have a chance.

I am not sure if this is the case, but since you got so many Greed Monger assets and things done you might have a feeling that you can carry on with it and finish it, but know it will be an uphill battle with many factors throwing stones at you while you try to climb this steep mountain.

Good luck in your efforts nevertheless.

Really I have no idea why he didn't send them out as promised. He told me that he wasn't going to send them out since the game was no longer being made. Regardless though we had/have an obligation to send them out so he should have followed through. Truth be told that's one reason I parted ways with him. I will NOT speak negatively of him though. He is still a valued contact of mine and one I wish the best of luck to with his future projects.

But something I've learned through all of this is if you want something done right then do it your self. Don't trust others to do as promised unless they are being paid to follow through.

I'm aware it's going to be a up hill battle but I'm prepared for it.

Yes, he should have stood up with his promises and do it. A good business man and honest person would feel compelled to complete what was promised and that is a character/personality trait that is rare these days.
Any ways, I hope you get those tshirts back and somehow in the future can send them to their rightful owners.

As for the highlighted text above, it is very very true and it is one of the reasons I am not normally a team player because when I am doing some work I need to make sure that it is done in perfection 100% and I feel afraid having other peoples working with me will affect that, since I cannot guarantee the work done to be good and as perfect as it can be.

One last thing though, have you thought of making mobile apps/games in order to fund the development of Greed Monger and also to give you some source of income?
They seem less complex than full PC games and much faster to do. Maybe you could work as freelance programmer for someone ?

Here we go again. What happened to all the other cool projects like this survival game?

Does that lesson extend to making an actual game at some point?

I can't believe that pukes like this walk away scot-free with a small fortune that most bank robbers would be willing to kill for ... but the Codex does nothing but heap sh*t on some one-man band who took a few measly bucks on IndieGoGo and has toiled away ever since trying to polish off his game. I have to support a family with a full time job and am often too exhausted to work on Grimoire every night but have still brought it within weeks of release slugging away at it after midnight since forever.

You should be ashamed, sirs.

This idiot has never done anything but drag a resource from the asset store into a Unity window and then put the screenshot up on Kickstarter. "GIF ME TEH MONEEZ I WILL MAKE TEH GAME FOR YOO."

I can't believe you seem to be attempting to redirect this thread to be about you and your personal woes.

I don't know who you are and it's obvious that the ignorance is mine alone; I'm new here and you evidently have a large history. That said, this thread has been ALL about heaping shit on two people: Appleton and Proctor. Unless you happen to be either one of them, then your lament of how "the Codex does nothing but heap shit on some one-man band" (which I assume is you from context), isn't warranted in this thread.

I realize that you haven't solicited my opinion or input, but considering that you have a) a full-time job, b) a family, c) trying to make a game and d) often too exhausted for C, then I suggest your time might be better invested in not painting yourself as a damsel in distress in a thread that wasn't about you in the first place.

Time for the good old [IGNORE.]
Oh, one last thing: announcing in the most passive-aggressive way possible that you're going to ignore someone is childish; the internet equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling "LALALALALALALA". Hit the button and move on with your overfull schedule.

And someone wanted this thread unpinned and retardo'd.

Wouldn't it fit in perfectly in Prosperland with the Grimoire thread?
What, and rob us of all the necromancy that this thread has seen? I think not.

Taojnhy - It's not that you're wrong, but I should probably mention that you're telling someone to be less childish in a Greed Monger thread in the MMO subforum on RPG Codex. And that someone is Cleve. There's something to be said about the futility of it all.

Oh yeah, and if you can see it, you can learn about Cleve and his game here - http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/grimoire-the-game-the-legend-the-thread.75724/

You will believe a golden baby can fly.

Holy fuck me running- This thing refuses to die... I'm gone for a month or so and the whole world is upside down. And wheres the cleve thread? it wont let me see it. I has lots of catching up to do because evidently everyone went fucking mad since december.

@ GM_JamesPro PM me here, cant get into my FB acct so if youre reading this , log in.

Edit-Let me add that I'm at a loss for words - Which is not something i'm used to, being the wordy motherfucker that i am. Dude, there are websites now reporting this shit, stories across the internet on massivley and shit- I hope you have one hell of a plan to finish this through because you just put a huge spotlight on yourself . This one isnt going to go away like Town life.

I know it's not going away... I don't want it to go away. I'm finishing the game one way or another... We start testing back up Feb. 1st and we will see from there. I have someone (won't mention who in public...) that I am talking with about funding the costs of the servers once that person has seen that I can pull it off and I'm making progress. Until then I'll just have the 10 or so of us in our Skype group testing things out.

Better stock up on chicken soup, Vitamin C and some Dayquil then; you really don't want the sniffles causing you to completely skip out on yet another test date. As for your mysterious investor...thus far you're 0/2 while GM has been under your total control. Hope third time's the charm!

Ha, Last I knew Town Life was the game. fuck chicken Soup and vitamins I'll need narcotics thank you very much.

And lets be clear, GM's never been under my control as I have nothing to do with any of this outside of giving advice to someone I dont want to see massacred. And I'm alot more than 0/2 on advice.

Oh well, I imagine its going to be an interesting couple months. Please pass the popcorn with a heavy dose of Vicodin and a bottle of jack.

I hope this thread will contain all the juicy details when test dates etc are completely missed again. Of course if James Proctor actually manages to completely code and release an MMORPG (!!!) I'll take everything back, go to a convent and become a nun.

I'm sure it will-

My stance is this- i have tried to pull someone away from running into traffic now more times than you know. He keeps trying to run into traffic. hes a big boy- Now i'll just be a gawker like everyone else when he blindly runs into traffic. I like james but fuck me ....
