That cool looking ARPG Grim Dawn just reached its funding goal with 10 days to go http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crateentertainment/grim-dawn/.

I'm quite excited for this one. It's looking much cooler than D3 imho. If you haven't seen it yet, check out their media page content:

Music in particular is pretty fucking awesome. I'm hoping the funding lets us have the game faster, although I'm not sure about a rushed release date with everyone still going crazy over D3. I think they said August next year...seems like so far away though. Damn.

Yes, it's at least sixteen months away, if not a full two years.

I'll be interested only if Path of Exile fails hard.

I dunno why but Path of Exile...hmm the look just doesn't appeal to me. I feel it lacks character and feels really generic. I like that it isn't kiddy style, but I dunno seems like trying a bit TOO hard to be grim dark. Grim Dawn has a bit of an original feeling/mood to it which seems much cooler. Kind of grim dark steam punk.

Nah, it'll take the same time -- they'll just have wider corridors.

Just noticed this. Put down my money. The deals didn't really entice me (seriously, $17 extra for the soundtrack?) so I just went with the basic version for now.

The soundtrack IS shaping up to be quite fantastic though. People shell out $60 for AAA full of shit games and get nothing extra, so $35 for a very promising game like this plus a nice soundtrack is not a bad deal imo.

Or I can just copy-paste the songs from the game directory. Unless the soundtrack was a) really great and b) lossless, I really don't have much incentive.

What if they include unreleased tunes that didn't make the cut?

Forbes article about the game: link.

And some moderator should change the name of the thread from Grim Dark to Grim Dawn. Sorry, but I don't know how to tag an user.

So far so good. Even though the Kickstarter is over you can still 'preorder' this for $18 at their website.
