Vizunah got nerfed? Not surprised, that shit took many tries with PUGs when I played years ago, this time I beat it with max reward with henchmen and the only reason it took more than 1 try is that I couldn't keep Master Togo alive the first 3 times. Assassins like me are notoriously bad healers.

Then again this time I'm going with a build that has extra crit chance, heal on crit, blocking all attacks so long as I can refresh it with crit...and my elite is the one that blocks all spells. Probably a much better build than whatever I ran back then.

By chance who here is not playing from Europe?

Also, post itt your favourite builds for shamelessly trolling random arenas.

One particularly lulzy build that I devised was an immortal assassin runner/jumper that unfortunately had to be discontinued when anet added a /report function. I don't remember for sure now, but I think it was an A/R with the following skillset:

Aura of displacement, heart of shadow, shadow of haste, dash, siphon speed, shadow refuge, death's charge, antidote signet.

I would start by going out of the spawn area, pop shadow of haste and start running rings around the arena. When it was about to end, I'd use AoD to jump to some unsuspecting fool, pop dash to cancel soh, use it again, and run even more rings. In case of trouble, use death's charge, shadow refuge and heart of shadow to heal and jump around the place. Siphon speed all wammos that try to chase use. Antidote signet the rainjerk poison/cripple combo away. IIRC just about the only thing that was able to stop this was a dedicated water ele with slowdown hexes, and considering how nobody ever played those, the trollage was supreme. I remember I once even managed to get a glad point because I had a 'winning' streak composed solely of people mass /resigning because they didn't want to waste the time waiting for the timer to reach zero while I was jogging around the arena.

When /report got added, I realised trollings needed some more subtle work. And thus, W/E20 hamstorm 2.0 came into life.

Glyph of essence, meteor shower, cripslash, gash, galrath slash, enraging charge, shield bash, rez signet. NECESSARY: at least 30 energy, zealous weapon preferred.

You start off by spamming chat with various random shouts involving hamstorm being unstoppable. Make sure to keep doing that in every free moment of your time. Then, when the game starts, you see the enemy, pop enraging charge, close in on any enemy. When you get the necessary adrenaline for a deadly combo, you switch targets to an unsuspecting monkor, pop glyph of essence -> cripslash -> instant meteor shower -> gash -> galrath slash. Nobody ever expects this, and it actually often turns out hilariously effective. Of course the problem is that you will never really use it twice in the same game barring extreme circumstances, but the instagib and surprise this brings to the table is often enough to give your team the necessary leverage to r00flestomp the opposition quickly. Rez fallen allies with rez signet, use shield bash against shitheads who try to pin you down.

Discuss!!

Truly, trolling worthy of :outrage:
I didn't have any special pro trolling strats, just the usual Burning Arrow ranger with Pin Down and Nature's Stride / Mesmer with Crippling Anguish in AB/FA/JQ.
The amount of raging assassassassasassin narutards who wished me cancer and AIDS made my dick diamond. My favourites were the ones who whined because I wasn't "fighting honourably". I even remember a German guy who said "fuck dich"!
And now it's all gone, like tears in rain. :negative:
Which taught me a lesson- fuck multiplayer games. At best, the game will be shit and that's it. At worst, the game will be great and one day it will end, just like that, leaving you with nostalgia and "I should've played more" thoughts.
While single player games are forever. Always there for you.

Ranger with Burning Arrow, Apply Poison, Hunter Shot and Needling Shot [Bow Attack. Fast-moving arrow. Deals 10...26...30 damage. Recharges instantly if target foe is below 50% Health. Your other attack skills are disabled (2 seconds)].
Start the fight as usual, make the monk aware that you're running a condition build, spread the love as fast as possible and then, when you see him draw conditions Needle the fucker into oblivion. Can be hard to time and energy management can be an issue but they did drop fast, oh so fast.

AB/FA/JQ.

Oh, speaking of this, we had a hilarious dual-ranger tag team for JQ with a bro. Its chief purpose was to go to the hill overlooking the mine deepest in enemy territory and apply massive butthurt.

I was running a build with poison arrow/barbed arrows/nature's renewal/dist shot/savage shot (and whirling defence/antidote signet/trorr unguent for survi), while he had incendiary arrows/apply poison/favourable winds/pin down/dist shot/gaze of contempt (+ WD/unguent). We'd just camp there on that overlook, place the two spirits and murder anyone that came close.

- Incendiary arrows made short work of bots on shrines
- Bomber necros that were so popular in JQ got instantly stripped of all their enchantments, would shadowstep inside the mine and die outright without achieving anything
- All sorts of hexers and enchanters got fucked up gud by nature's renewal
- Wammos and assassins kept getting kited/degen'd/interrupted to hell.
- Juggernaught/turtle escort monkors couldn't use any enchs to help them, nor could they really outheal all that degen, and would get interrupted to hell.

good times

Also another one for a mes/rainjerk to AB built around fevered dreams and fragility before it got nerfed. That shit was hillez.

I was Me/Rt with fevered dreams, fragility, shrinking armour, accumulated pain, weapon of shadow, while bro had a rain jerk with iirc pin down, burning arrow, apply poison, hunter's shot. Put fevered dreams and fragility on a guy inside a big enough mob of people -> apply all conditions on him in quick succession -> see everyone die

I don't actually remember the skill names, so bear with me.
Whammo with regen-aura. Made many an entitled fuck quit. Usually from my team :troll:

Touchy Ranger. Max expertise + 2 necro vampiric touch skills. Elite was a necro skill that sacrificed health for energy pips. The rest were running and defensive skills (whirling defense, zephyr's sprint or some such). You could cast ~1 touch per second for ~60 dmg/healing for 5 energy per activation. No cooldown, no spell, no attack. So there were few curses that actually hampered you. I still remember being called a noob by a guy who used some curse that would have damaged me for using spells...if I had been using spells. Oh, and this team lost :P
Otherwise it was just a nice pressure build that didn't die easily. Unfortunately there was a flavour of the month build that was also built around those vampiric touch skills. So more people quit than when seeing a whammo. Not the kind of trolling I had had in mind...

Curse necro that punished people for attacking. Usually 3 curses plus cover curse. I'd also spread the cheap covering curse around, so that monks couldn't easily find out the real target. If the enemies didn't pay attention (not rare in Random Arenas ;) ) they'd kill themselves quickly. Especially Assassins could almost insta-gib themselves. One day I was running this and got side-lined by a thumper that I hadn't been paying attention to. He made fun of me for dying so easily. Well, I ran into him a few more times that day. And I paid attention. And he was shut down and died. A lot. :argh:

But overall I was more trolled by others (usually quitters that didn't like team composition or took exception to certain builds*) than that I actively sought to troll anybody
*why the fuck do you play random arenas if you don't want random teams :retarded:

AFAIK after then consecutive wins in random arena you get to pre-made arenas or whatever they are called. Happened to me once or twice, needless to say we got mauled instantly.

Ye, if your team won 10 rounds in random arenas it got moved to team arenas, usually meaning the end of your winning streak.

Furthest I got in random arenas iirc was a winning streak of 17. Then one of the shitheads on my team quit after the last victory, and I was stuck in an everlasting 'waiting for more players' because it couldn't leech a randumb into team arenas :argh:

I know. But it doesn't have anything to do with what I said...? If you want to play Team Arenas, play team arenas. They work with PuGs.
My best was ~72 consecutive wins :smug:
But that was an early low-level random arena. We started off successful because we had two twinks with max armor on our team. After some wins we started coordinating. By the end we'd out-leveled the allowed joining level (IIRC we were lvl 14 and the max joining lvl was 12) and were well coordinated. We even switched some players since it was taking so long that people on our team were quitting. From the ~50th win on we had a noob who was mostly baggage. We still dominated. Eventually we were all fed up and quit. Otherwise we could have continued indefinately.

In the real random arenas ~14 consecutive wins was my best (so ~4 in TA). In the last match we were first pounded, but then adjusted and managed to survive. But we couldn't kill the enemies. 4 rangers, IIRC. Eventually our monk quit and we had to concede. Otherwise we might have managed a "draw". Team Arenas often run with flavour of the month builds or builds to destroy FotMs. So our random team presented them with something unexpected and actually managed some wins.

I mostly played a knockdown-hammer warrior build in random arena to keep that enemy monk down.

Speaking of flavor of the month builds, I still remember when IWAY was the only build being run in HA for some time.

Heh, same happened to me. 116 streak in Ascalon Arena during the first christmas event. Lost when I came up against a group including a full armor SS necromancer (who was previously on my team in fact). I was a wammo* who had no idea what an elite was let alone SS (I only knew what SS was because he mentioned it) and got steamrolled.

Then I was inspired to make an SS Necromancer of my own. A Shadow Strike Necromancer :retarded:

*In my defense, at least I wasn't a Mending wammo. Live Vicariously + Vigorous Spirit + Condition removal and Flurry.

For normal PvP RA I was usually the monk desperately trying to hold newbs together or the Mesmer hex stacking the enemy monk.

my first toon was a necro, back when a n/e was actually a decent build. then i got a ranger, and pvp started to be fun with interrupts and conditions.
then i went full mesmer, a backfire-skill negating build i personally named "no". "i cast mete-" "no" "then i'll cas-" "no" "well, i'll mele-" "no" "i'll slip this spell under your barra-WTF 124 HP GONE!". no defensive skills, my defense was convincing my target it wasn't a good idea to act with me around. i laughed oh so much with all those 55 hp build around...

damn, it's unbelievable how many things gw got perfectly right and how retarded gw2 is.

No kidding. I used to play it on my sister's account when prophecies just came out. I miss GW now and my last days of it were just being bored. All this talking makes me want to go back to it but I'm betting it would be the same hero spam that made me bored in the first place. I really with there was another game that copied the same ideas behind GW but didn't nerf itself into oblivion with heroes.
