Here's something you've never seen. The Heist trailer from 2006. Keep in mind this was alpha and 9 years ago.

I really liked the cast we had for Heist. Ed Asner, Bruce Campbell, Clancy Brown, Christian Slater and more.

Funny how you can only find these on random obscure Youtube channels. Memory hole, flush!

That looks interesting, any more info on it? Is it sold via steam or gog? I can't find it with a quick search.

Problem is all searches for Heist give you a bunch of hits for Payday: The Heist

I also found this weird casino game(?!) called The Heist:

Looks awesome, sort of a GTA 70 lite with some pretty Damn good actors to boot, I imagine some cool Pulp Fiction vibes for its dialogue and music
Too bad it got canned

At first guys who made this were making something of a Thief squad based game. Fully 3d engine with lighting and shadows, etc. But the Virgin guys who were publishers didn't like the results and were thinking about cancelling the whole thing. But Crimson (had to look at some source materials, it was long time ago) didn't panicked and made isometric strategy instead. You are a convict rescued by some mob member and have to pay the deal or you will swallow a bullet if you aren't grateful and cooperating. You start in some shithole, trying to earn the first money, robbing camp sites and fuel stations, shops and other things. This is the great thing about it - see that building ? You can rob it! Of course life and games aren't that simple. You need to remember about some things : guns, locks, alarms and of course keys.

You hire some muscles, and later on specialist to open the safes. You aren't the jack of all trades, you coordinate and execute things with the helping hands of other criminals. You will need cash, lots of it, for all the equipment and payments. Of course people who live in their houses and take care of shops and others behave accordingly to your actions. For example, if you investigate for too long one place someone will notice the cops. And the blue man are on the streets too, so you must be careful. The worst thing that can happen, is when heist goes wrong and you have a red alarm on you. Long story short - you are toasted in the particular town. Even if you manage to rescue your ass, the cops will remember you and when you return, they will be waiting. Later on you can get additional FBI support to help your stress problems. Oh, and don't forget they are AMERICAN cops so they shoot to kill. Take no prisoner policy.

TL,DR - It's a combination of Commandos, Gangsters and GTA with some high difficulty level bar and nice isometric graphics/sounds. Night Dive should release it already on steam/gog.

Just tried to install it on Win 7 (32-bit). It works, but has some problems, usually I see them on multicore processors. Tried it setting it to one results in crash. Are you using virtual machine with old Windows ?

I have it running fine on Win 7 x64, but now that you mention it, I did have to fix some glitch regarding the speed, possibly. Off to investigate.

Edit: Shit, came up with nothing :? I inspected the .exe and there's no compatibility mode enabled...

Edit 2: Ok, I remembered my issue actually was the menu icons flashing on and off, and my workaround was to launch the game with the integrated GPU instead of the Nvidia one (running on a laptop). If it runs too fast one suggestion I read was to use a frame-limiter software.

Looking for the game (and found it), I ran into a fixed exe. Not sure if it switches the game to RU, but I don't think it will.

edit: you'll have to fetch the downloads from the native site, not the translated version.
