So, somedays ago, while looking trough GOG if found this weird game called "Wasteland 2". Its made by some creep named Brian Fargo, or Fargo Brian, a wannabe Tim Cain.

Well this Wannabe Tim Cain decide to make a fallout rip off. So the game takes place in a wasteland after a nuclear war. Sounds familiar ?

The graphics are shit, and Im blind now, its my friend Mustafa (a guy a bought in my local slave market) who is writing this post for me.

The gameplay is shit, and now I lost the mobility of my arms, because of the boring, repetetive and streamlined combat. Now I cant jerk off on my own, and I gotta call Mustafa for help.

The story is shit, its boring, and steals many elements from Fallout.

I hope so. Dont forget to mention how tedious it was and how the whole game was just a bunch of corridors.

The only reason why Fallout was called "Fallout" is because "Wasteland" was trademarked. It's the same serious you neo-dumbass

With that in mind, and knowing fully well Fallout is much more popular for its setting than Wasteland could ever hope to be, I don't understand why Obsidian just doesn't get around creating a new post-apocalyptic IP that is even better and more interesting than Fallout.

I hate saying this but it's hard to tell what could possibly have a better setup than Fallout. Post-apoc shit tends to be pretty bland but Fallout had a killer stylistic sensibility to it. I don't know what could come even close, especially with the state of Obsidian.

Well, they could try a steampunk fallout thing, the style of it could be emphasis on steam and pipes instead of how fallout does it with it's 50s/60s style.

2 RPG's that could be just like Fallout but NOT

Gammaworld
Post apocalyptic wasteland that is not a wasteland due to plant life growing back relatively quickly with all the characters being largely comprised of mutated animals. This would get me a chance to throw the Raccoon people from Fallout in. They would fit there for sure. So take Fallout and add this shit:

latest

Although that ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL cover just reeks of Liberal infestation that would likely plague this game...then people would DEMAND Zebra porn...ok maybe this would sell well. MCA?

JUDGE DREDD ISOMETRIC TURN BASED RPG!

Post-post apocalyptic game that takes place in a world that resembles the one from Judge Dredd since even if you could get the rights to Dredd, they would say "MAKE IT COOP, MAKE IT FPS. DOES IT NEED TO HAVE THAT READING STUFF?"

Everyone rips each other off on this plane of existence anyway, so you make your own derivative world, like Mad Max/Fallout, with one or two unique elements. So we have a wasteland with pockets of civilization that survived with a bunch of cops like Judges...but instead of Mutants it's Aliens. Fallout with Judge Dredd fighting Aliens. Instant success. Make those Aliens - Cthulhu Aliens? Even better. People love Lovecraft even though they never touched one of his fucking books.

Cos Obs mostly consists of fantasyfags and they wouldn't dare piss off Bethesda or else that 1% chance of making another Fallout spin-off is gone.

Wasteland 2 was a nice 6-6.5/10 game for me, sunk 40 hours into it and got bored as I got to California and never finished.

The game had ok combat(but very repetitive) and some CNC which gave nice variety, I remember I chose the town instead of the agricultural center or w.e then changed my mind and restarted the game.

That being said there was something about the game I couldn't get into. Everything in the towns for example seemed very boring and non interesting, nothing like exploring the hub or vault city looking for side quests and stuff to do.

I also had a big problem with needing different skills like the electronics, lockpicking and whatever else, there was a point I had to leave a few unspent points on each character so I wouldn't get stuck. I remember there was some box I had to unlock by using ever skill in the game at the canyon of titan in a different order, which took me like 30 minutes to figure out because of how insanely retarded it was. Little stupid shit like that made the game way worse then it could of been.

The game was also extremely poorly optimized, my computer can run pretty much any modern FPS or any game and get I had this constant delay playing wasteland 2, really fucking annoying after a couple dozen hours.

Considering the only decent game obsidian have made was using the Fallout IP, I seriously doubt they can come up with anything half decent on their own lol.

It shouldn't be too hard, but Obsidian has a hard-on for fantasy settings.

Steampunk is garbage and I hate it. I'd rather have a hard sci-fi post-apocalyptic game that basically spans the solar system. That's a lot less predictable than "steampunk" or "something something lovecraft" that smallers devs default to when they run out of ideas.
