How do you name your characters? (women logic included)

Character names from pen-and-paper campaigns, cool-sounding Hungarian words, and occasionally made-up shit that still sounds somewhat decent.

... then there are themed parties for blobbers. Protip: Power Rangers and Captain Planet both have 6 protagonists (depending on how you define 'protagonist').

those fucking caverns never ends
Are you talking about the Abandoned Temple? You're a huge faggot then.
How will you clear out the Pyramid and Castle Darkmoor then if the beginner dungeon is "never-ending"?

Hah, i found the flaw in your fairy tale!

Mang, I've beaten that piece of game years ago. It was great and it still is. Now even the beginning dungeons seems to be big (which is great). And I remember that later ones are fucking enormous. However I am pleasantly surprised with the size and complexity of the first areas in the game. Probably modern cRPG's "spoiled" us with the feeling that dungeons should be short and straightforward.

Also, it's hard not to see that people registered years ago seems to give characters silly names. Probably with some time passed we are more focused of the fun side of the gaming and less on the immersion.

My fiancée is fine, she just likes to make my life miserable :D Although she likes when I'm playing Endless Space. It's probably the colours and music - really calm and cozy.

-Easymode: Take any existing name and use it, switch around or add a few letters at your leisure

-Hardmode: Think up a setting appropriate and ''unique'' name every time without naming your special snowflake B'cyss'kong Erad'r Qua'ineno Irtoot'll XIII

-IWBTG Prepare to Die Edition: Use your imagination

Keeping a scrap of paper around to jot words and names on helps. You're all faggots

And she went crazy. She just could't believe that I have named my characters so vulgarly. She asked why and my response that I have done it for fun and to better remember who is who in my party only made it worse.
Now she is mad at me.
Wasn't M&M famous for using the portraits of porn actors? Which means it's kind of fitting.

Myself, I just try to find names of which I think that they somehow fit, probably from books I read.

So, I've been playing some ol' Might&Magic VI, and God, those fucking caverns never ends. My woman is making a dinner and cleaning sth behind me. She asked me for a hundred time why do I play those ugly, stupid games. I replied that M&M is not stupid and ugly - it's a piece of art. And in 1996 it was probably the most beautiful PC game. And I have started showing her my game. Screenshot included:

Suddenly she saw the names of my party which are (rough translation from Polish):
-Holy Dick
-Fag
-Forest woman (don't ask)
-Fucker
And she went crazy. She just could't believe that I have named my characters so vulgarly. She asked why and my response that I have done it for fun and to better remember who is who in my party only made it worse.

In b4: retardo || move to gd || cool story bro

I used to have a list of names I have used other games, the thing that happens the most to me is that I start fiddling with the character creation and as I create a character he/she somehow inspires a name for me.
For example my Wasteland 2 party is the perfect example; I started out with a tough biker type leader and guving him the name Marshall fit him to a tee. Doing a Clint Eastwood sniper type with poncho and cowboy boots and I think names of a gunslinger or famous outlaw... So I name him Deadeye Bob.
Next I do an Native anerican chief style mistic healer so I want a Mad Bull sounding kind of name, so I name him War Eagle (after the nickname of the Auburn Tigers)
Finally I want a blackploitation kind of hot lady like Cleopatra Jones to ne my heavy weapons and demolitions expert and while fiddling around she ends up looking like Beyonce... So I name her Killah Bee
I develop characters in my mind as I an creating them to make role playing options easier, to be honest naming them Cunt or Big Dick Willie is kind of adolscent to me but to esch his own

The main/first char in a party is usually named after myself in some way, EG: Lucas, Luke, Luca. After that I don't really care for the rest of the party although I sometimes like to name other characters after current/past friends of mine. Mostly if I feel like they share traits with them either by looks or ability.

Charname for BG1/BG2.

Lilura for NWN modules.

I employ obscenities for TES.

For my recent run of ToEE I googled up a few oldskool Greyhawk names:

Pretty much do what you do, use vulgar, funny names.

Usually my party leader is Smelly Joe, the name of my leader for my first play of Buck Rogers as a kid.

For single player games my typical name was Cockinbum, but it's now shortened to SFW Cocks since I moved and stayed with my cousin and his boy began asking me why I'd name my guy that.

I always give all characters names which ordinarily start with an "R" prepended by a "B".

Examples: Brudolf, Brobert, Broderick, Brunar, Bronja, Bragnhild, and so on.

I usually name all my characters something appropriate for the setting or that I think is cool. Except for a NWN2 monk playthrough - since I tend to hate martial arts in western fantasy, his name was Karategai Sogei.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
Sometimes I didn't bother and simply type FighterA, MageB, and PriestC.
Sometimes I just named my characters using random movie/cartoon character names.

For single character games I usually put more thought into it. First playthrough usually I just go with my real name, though.

Specific case: One Shadowrun Hong Kong dwarf portraits kinda reminds me of Gordon Freeman, so I used that.
