If all people want is a simple, clean way to +1 posts, then put back the like system and keep calling them brofists or whatever, but remove the counters that show how much everyone has. Cleaner, and it'll stop people from getting weirdly attached to them. Wasn't that how it was at one point anyway?

Or remove them entirely. Or keep the buttons because they're more amusing. Or just drop the pretense and get to what we really want - give everyone a limited stock of kodex kredits per year. You can invest these in posts to show your appreciation for them. If others do too, the exchange rate on that post goes up and you can take back your kredits at a higher value. Better watch out though, because if they pull out before you the exchange rate drops and you'll get back less then you put in. You can then spend these kredits to delete or edit people's posts, move threads or change people's titles. That way, people will never know who to blame whenever something happens that they don't like. I foresee that this will stimulate a healthy market of back-alley dealing, mutual distrust and drive the paranoids to the breaking point.
