"Every single one of our employees has a commute that is the shortest of their lives. The impact to people’s quality of life that comes with this is amazing, and I can see it on their smiling faces every time they get to work.

That's awesome, whatever you may think about the studio it sounds like the NO branch manager is a human.

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
I have a 2-3 hour (round trip) daily commute. I want to punch these smiling NO devs in their smiling dev faces.

Good for them! Short commutes are wonderful!

Maybe he decided to leave when Kevin Saunders "left", but stayed because he's a responsible individual - for a lead programmer to leave mid project would often be a disaster. So he stayed till it was ok to leave (which is about now), and then immediately resigned. The timing of his departure seems to indicate that he wanted to leave for a while.

Has anyone noticed the cult of personality around Fargo; he is treated like nobility or even royalty. InXile evidently wans an atmosphere of near-religious adoration.

EXAMPLE A:

BX2NLCw.jpg

Brian Fargo is called a 'king'. Enough said.

EXAMPLE B:

4260481203_14c0a57f45_b.jpg
:

This looks like the modern Versailles: opulent and decadent.

Fargo 2020, anyone?

EXAMPLE C:

I would see talent and say, 'let's do it, make it happen'.
- Brian Fargo

This sounds like a man with a god complex.

ALSO REMEMBER:

"The whole reason why Bethesda has the rights to Fallout is because of me,"
- Brian Fargo

For better or worse he certainly puts himself out there as the figurehead for everything Inxile does (although "Return of the King" is p embarrassing even as far as standard dev cocksucking goes). I guess that's why he also takes more heat when people see Inxile decisions they don't agree with - compared to someone like Feargus who is somewhat lower key and has Sawyer as a handy lightning rod.

He's probably the shame of the family, hence his desire to compensate with these titles and all the asslicking he gets. Comes from a rich family, where everyone has a serious profession like lawyers, construction developers, etc, and he's doing video games. Basement dweller of the family.
