Sad to say, but it was a trilogy.
I've watched all three.
The third one is ironically the best. Still a shitty B-movie, but they had bad guys teamed up with the protagonist. Made for some fun scenes.

That movie is hilariously terrible. ET not only has one of the worst movie tie in games of all times (and they are usually quite bad), but also the worst plagiarism attempts of all time. The other image I posted originally was from one of the "turkish ET" movies. Because yeah, they did more than one.
