I may be retarded but didn't basically describe The Sims? I mean, every Sim can love, hate etc. every other Sim, can have dozens of occupations, can be dead, alive, sick etc. So wouldn't the Sims also fit that description? In fact I doubt that his game will be anything more than just a normal adventure game with heavy Sims elements.

So, this is Sid Meier level bullshit? Christ man. Why do they do it? There's no conspiracy, it's probably not even ego. What are they doing? Is this their idea of clever marketing, maybe?
You don't have to be a software engineer to realize how fucking much time it would take to make a game with geometric branching paths. Fuck, the Codex has talked about this before most of its current posters stopped shitting in diapers. There is a literal, mathematical result of trying to do stuff like this. In reality it will be like fucking Spore. Super complex and clever programming, but the game sucks and is bland and boring.
I am super salty about spore. All the intelligence by programmers going into a game that sucked. Think of what they could have done instead. We don't even know, because they were working on Spore instead.

Just once, I'd like to see one of these game-designer-turned-celebrities not lose their shit after having a wildly overrated, successful game/franchise.

I wonder how long before Fargo goes off the deep end, Wasteland 2 was pretty successful.

Besides, whatever the new game is I'm sure it will have a lighthouse, a man and a city. All this bullshit about "narrative" just proves once again Levine's nothing but a wannabe film-maker.
