In this thread we discuss KMFDM.

I was big into this band when I was in high school but had kinda forgotten about them in recent years. Someone recently linked me a song that reminded me of KMFDM, which prompted me to pull out my old box of industrial CDs and start listening again. I tracked down a torrent that had the original release of Naive -- I only had the crappy Hell to Go version -- and man, I think this is easily one of their best albums. Too bad I missed there most recent tour, as the two live shows of theirs I've seen were pretty rockin'.

I prefer their more self-referential humorous tracks, but political subversiveness has been their bag since the beginning too.

I'm more fond of their 80s material.

Well Itchy Bitchy is definitely an example of the KMFDM sense of humor.

Easily one of my favorite bands.

Unfortunately, they really seem to have fallen apart starting with Hau Ruck.

I thought Hau Ruck had some decent tracks mixed in with some unremarkable ones: pretty standard for a KMFDM album. I haven't listened to any of their albums since then though, so if they aren't any good that's too bad.

The artist that did the "Drug Against War" video is the same that did art for the FPS "ZPC" if I'm not mistaken.

This was my first Intro to KMFDM. Love them <3

Skinny Puppy is still vastly superior.

Haven't heard about Skinny Puppy, they sound ok. Not as rough sounding as KMFDM though. :brodex: Jaesun for bringing this to my attention.

KMFDM <<<<<<< FLA & Skinny Puppy

Even compared to modern SP's shit KMFDM got really pop-ish.

Oh I agree that Skinny Puppy is the better band. I just have a fondness for some KMFDM from time to time.

Always thought KMFDM was a bit too cheesy for my tastes... sort of industrial music posers if you know what I mean. But tbh almost everyone that adopted that aesthetic after the late 80s was a bunch of posers. At least these guys didn't take this shit too seriously. Doesn't mean I want to listen to their music though...
