This is for people who still believe MMORPGs can and should have higher standards. It's the start of a game concept with a lot of potential in my opinion and also a lot of space for ideas. Should the game ever reach the shelves, please bear in mind that any ideas, concepts, discussions you contribute are voluntary and will not be rewarded with money. All you can hope for is a mention in the credits.
With that out of the way, let's make a game.

Adam and Eve concept:
In order to be able to start the game 2 other people have to give birth to you.
These 2 people are any 2 chars from different accounts who decide to let a new char from a different account join the game in their family.
They get a list of accounts with the LED statistics.
They get to choose the name of the new char. - debatable
They do not get to chose the sex. The sex will be chose by the player behind the char to be born along with any other chargen options.
A player waiting in line for his char to get born should be able to walk around the game world as a spirit without being able to influence it in any way. The feature is intended to give people not playing the actual game while in line something to do and something to look forward to while waiting and not miss out on the learning curve.
Of course the game will initially let a number of people be born miraculously to populate the world. The numbers are debatable and can increase if the people in the game do not multiply on their own within certain periods of time.

Chat Channels:
Guild/Klan chat should be available.
Family chat should be available.
Raid chat -debatable
Absence of global chat - prevents spam.
Spam within the guild or family chat will be dealt with by family/guild members.
No trade or global chat also means players have to ask around if the need something. it make for much more interaction between players and makes guilds much more important.

Magic:
Needs in depth thought input.
Synergy possibility with -open list-

Natural Events / Wrath of the Gods:
If a guild/family achieves a dangerous level of global population percentage a natural catastrophe will take care of the problem to some extent. -extent debatable
If many smaller guilds/families decide to band together and wreck things it will also be punished in the same manner.

Billboards/Newspapers/Media:
Automated statistics gatherer and publisher with ports for player input and major events must be implemented.

Architecture:
Skills have to be thought out, listed and defined.

Economy:
Requires in depth thought input.
Synergy with natural resources. -debatable

Lifebars:
Everything needs a lifebar. Well, everything that makes sense. Skills obviously do not.

Permadeath:
High char fatality. You do stupid shit you get killed and need to wait in line to respawn.
The thought behind this is synergy with the Adam and Eve concept. People that anger their Guilds too much can be killed by their guild mates. Guild leaders that don't manage to keep their people satisfied or outright missuse their position can get overthrown. People and guilds that kill too many other people will stand out in the news and might be perceived as a threat and get killed/destroyed by the rest of the community.

The LED:
Account statistics for how often a player was killed, by whom and at what game time length. visible to any Adam and Eve. It ensures that spam bots don't respawn. Along with any other undesirables. Green for new accounts and older accounts with chars that got killed but not by family or guild mates. Yellow for an account with chars that got killed by family or guild mates after a certain period of ingame time. Red for accounts with many chars that got killed before a certain period of ingame time by family or guild mates.

Natural Resources:
Needs in depth thought input.
Synergy with economy. -debatable

Rituals:
Needs in depth thought input.
Synergy with -open list-

Science:
Needs in depth thought input.
Synergy with -open list-

Space Exploration:
requires space to explore, the means to do so and in depth thought input.
Remember Arcanum? It combined magic and technology but made them mutually exclusive. Except for Vendigroth Ruins where at some point civilization managed to combine them but the city had gotten destroyed by Arronax. Lets bring that back.

The Tree of Life and Meditation:
Possible spawn point for the first people. Place of pilgrimage and meditation. Holy ground.
a means to get random skills - debatable
The game should offer a wide variety of skills but you only get some random ones and then go play the actual game. Interact with others, trade something you can do for something another can and join large groups of people working on larger projects.

Any 3D Tile artists out there that can build me a pyramid with a shiny machine gun coming out of it or some kind of laser cannon would be deeply appreciated.
