    Hello Page 3, let's be friends!

    I'd recommend it quite readily. It's been a whole season since the first portion so my memory's a bit hazy...
    Plenty of things are toned toned from the Manga, especially where Caster and his Master is concerned, some of their scenes are actually quite notorious, I think one of them involved an "organ umbrella."
    Visuals are stunning to say the least, they mix 2D and 3D extremely well and the animation is incredibly clean and fluid, even during hectic fight scenes. Maintaining this visual quality was apparently the reason for the hiatus over the "winter season."
    And the characters themselves are an absolute joy to watch, Rider and his master, (Waver?) especially so. He is a very, very charismatic leader.

    From what I remember of the Fate/Stay night movie and anime, they're absolute kiddie stuff in comparison to their prequel.

    I'd love to go into more detail, but my memory is a bit too hazy...

    On the subject of Fate related anime, there's also a spinoff called Carnival Phantasm which basically pokes fun of everything in Fate/Stay Night (which means there WILL be a lot of spoilers).
    I found the first handful of episodes to be incredibly funny and I would recommend it to any fan of Fate/Stay Night.

    I'd very much like to link one of the sketches, but it's practically guaranteed there will be spoilers.

    Thanks for the detailed answer, guess I have no choice but to watch it in that case.

    I can still spot several places where they've saved in production costs, but Zero is still one of the best animated series today. The only problem I have with is the fact that they've missed the chance to actually adapt from the source material. The long dialogue scenes taken straight from the novel don't quite work so well in animated form... of course talking heads are cheaper, but still.

    Zero is definitely a huge improvement over Night, at least so far. Less derpy exposition about how things work, MUCH less derpy 3rd rate romance/angst.

    But honestly, the reason I enjoy the Fate/Stay series is to see obscure/original heroes use cool abilities. They both had some interesting highlights in that regard, Zero just does it with a lot less garbage in between moments of awesome.

    Right, then. Let's continue.

    ~~~
    ~~~

    That was some fairly important characterization for Shirou, I think. As well as a nice glimpse into what magic is and why technology is superior in many regards.

    Alrighty, that's the end of the first day. Next update begins the second day, where even more inane things happen!

    As recommended I have watched the anime and must say that it truly was very good, but the problem is that after the the fate/stay night visual novel and the fate/zero anime I still want more. Anything else in the series worth mentioning or do I have to wait for the second season of zero ? Was zero based on a visual novel as well (couldn't find anything)?

    There is a game, Fate/Extra, that has been translated already.

    Also, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia is almost completely translated now, it's a direct sequel to Fate/Stay Night and a Visual Novel. I think.

    Does that include "Carnival Phantasm," I also described in my previous post?
    In any case, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

    Well good luck and hope you manage that soon. This novel deserves some recognition and your LP ( LR?) may convince some people to give it a try.

    Man, I would have told you that LPing this visual novel would be an impossible feat, it's just too huge. Not to mention that you'd have to show the 2 new paths that appear sfter the end of the normal game. The fact is that there is a great story in there, but I really staggered through the inane inner banter of the protagonist, I really hate that stuff. Hopefully after the first half it gets much better.

    Please, tell me you're not going to go through Fate route. It don't add nothing for the next playthroughs and is boring as fuck. Go instead for Unlimited Blade Works, it has way better character development and it's necessary for the Heaven's Feel route, which is the best without any doubt.

    Fate/Hollow is way better. The main character is pretty interesting and her servant is codexian to the bone.:obviously:

    Well, from what I've gathered Fate is the worst route but is necessary for the exposition it gives to the other routes. So we'll be doing that first. Sorry.

    There are events that only occur in Fate route, additional perspectives that are revealed and so forth. Plus the whole personality of the mc changes on the subsequent routes. Not to mention that the true ending wouldn't make any sense if you skip fate.

    Angry Manjaw is codexian to the bone? Are you saying we are all the evils in the Internet?

    True, all routes must be read because they are all part of the puzzle, without Fate you dont understand the motivation of Saber and Shirou since its never stated again in the other routes, similar skipping to HF means missing who Archer is since that is only in UBW.

    And there is no "true" ending, I know there been a attempt at reconciling the endings (as only HF provides a final end to the Grail War) as, I guess, Fate route is very popular but I personally prefer HF ... its just nastier and more conclusive IMO.

    Yep. There's also the "rape is the only answer" and the fact that superficially he is all edgy and stuff but he can also be pretty :monocle: when peeling his master's character down.

    I also prefer HF route. It has a very nice atmosphere of despair in the last half.

    I suspect there is more to that since there is a part of Angry Manjaw that goes back to when he was made to assume that role, after all he is not the real thing but rather someone that was made into being that.

    Well Fate is very idealistic until about the end were the truth about Shirou idealism comes out, UBW is very much a struggle of idealism vs realism but it just Archer Route as HF is "oh boy" were its kinda like Fate but starts much sooner and things just get worst, also its were Shirou does have to make a decision over his idealism (I would say he rationalizes his ideals) and goes with it to the end, its also a very "dirty" route and at the same time very noble.

    I think UBW is the route I enjoyed the least because there is no good villains, Caster role simply lasts too long and does not work very well and Gil simply does not work at the end and also it really suffers from being too Archer focused because in the end it resolves around Archer ... the only thing I liked was the Shirou-Rin sex scene as it was two tsundares having sex that was kinda funny, not as ... well wrong as the Shirou-Sakura sex scenes in HF that are more disturbing that anything.

    Bah, reached the end of the new patch, the translation apparently ends when Rin come back from England. It was good while it lasted, especially the bridge part and the Angra Mainyu x Saber battle.

    Just finished watching the "Unlimited Blade Works" movie. Man, I thought Shirou was an annoying dumbass in the FSN series, but he's twice as bad in this movie. And Saber is so fucking irrelevant you wonder why she's even here. All in all, it was quite forgettable.

    The Fate Zero series was fairly decent, on the other hand.

    So, an update.

    I've finished the damn thing. The whole thing. I just started reading without the intent to take screencaps...

    It's actually pretty damn cool in my opinion. I'm gonna start posting more soon.
