A 44-year-old Russian man has been reported dead after he crashed into a glass table and suffered significant wounds while playing a VR video game in his apartment.

The past few years have seen the widespread use of Virtual Reality and, while the technology offers an incredible user experience, it would seem that, like most things, there are sharp, dangerous edges to be considered. According to reports, a 44-year-old Russian man has died while playing a VR game.

Exact details of the case are still not confirmed, as the investigation is ongoing. However, sources claim that the man, while playing a Star Wars VR game, tripped over a glass table, crashed into it, and suffered significant wounds to his head. It's said that he continued playing the game in spite of his injuries before dying due to blood loss.

As the only official source right now is a preliminary report by the Russian Investigative Committee, it's unknown if the victim was under the influence of intoxicating substances, as that would explain his lack of a reaction to the crash and the injuries that came with it.
