I spend most of my time playing older games, so when I see newer ones I'm always surprised how close they are to the uncanny valley. This particular character's dress and make up seems to be from a cheesy L.A. pornography set. Cheaply arousing.

A long time ago I played either the first Metal gear solid on a PC running windows. Now, I really can't remember if it was the Windows port, or the PlayStation game in an emulator. Whatever the case may be, the game came on two discs. One was the story mode (for lack of a better way of putting it) and the other was a number of "VR" (for Virtual Reality) missions. I found the VR missions much more exciting, as they were small, puzzle like, stealth challenges. On the other hand I found the story mode boring, because the story kept disturbing the gameplay. My personal preference would be for longer intervals of gaming between story segments, or just no story at all.

I have not played the other three Metal gear solid titles. Were any of them released with a bonus disc of missions like the first was? If so which one? Otherwise, do any of them feature more than 10 hours of interactive game time or (alternatively) skippable story bits?
MGS2 had a 2nd release with VR missions added.

I think all of them have at least 10 hours of game play, but they all feature Kojima's trademark over-exposition. I was about to post that I think all of MGS4's cutscenes are skippable, but I just remembered the briefing things between acts are not, and would most likely really annoy you.

Even Metal Gear 2 has quite a lot of "cutscenes" for a game made in 1990.

Speaking of which, they should drop the Harry gregson bullshit and just go back to the awesome msx scc music from MG2. Just as epic and way more catchier.

So, is this MG ground zeroes? Consoletards really believed this shit would fly in current gen consoles...

They're separate games, and they're both getting current and next gen releases.

Ohh. Updated my MG wiki.

Anyway, now it seems that Eli kid is Liquid Snake. Many striking parallels between the two(and more retconning).

Quiet: A sniper deprived of her words. When Kojima want to emphasize something, he doesn't know what the word redundancy means.Well she can't speak so at least she can't complain about how hot and unconfortable it is to not have clothes in Afeghanistan.

But the "open-world strategical stealth" shit looks cool.
Wasn't the same thing promised with MGS4, which was 2 acts of wide corridors followed by an escort mission, a remake of MGS1 and another wide corridor followed by a murderous corridor?

It wasn't promised in MGS4 at all. And in MGS5 we already seen that it is open world.
