As I stated in the RPG Codex TOP 74 Boxed Edition thread it has come time again to release my collection to the world. I figure where else but here would one find those who appreciate these classics (and some not so classic ) as much as I do.

My daughters off to college, and as many here in the ol' US of A know, it can be quite expensive. Since I have complete sets of the Ultima, Might & Magic, Gold Box, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Wing Commander, Jagged Alliance, Fallout, Quest for Glory, Bard's Tale, series (plus many other series as well as tons of SSI games) all with their clue books/ strategy guides, pre-orders, Collector's Editions, etc. it should hopefully bring in some nice revenue.

I'm starting off with the ULTIMA collection first and each week I'll add more series and individual titles.

I love my collection and hate to part ways with many of these classics. I think there are some real gems in the collection. I put in a "Buy It Now" price but also am allowing people to make offers depending on how much they think something is worth. I really don't know on many of these as some I collected many years ago so I'll see what they go for.

Mindx2, are they gone already or is the sale just limited to Kwan? It's an awful shame to break up such a collection, particularly after your faithful service on behalf of the Codex. I've got too much crap already to act as custodian to such irreplaceable artifacts, but I'm easily tempted.

Have you considered kickstarter? That way the Codex could have some say in chosing your daughter's course? Stretch goals to include a PhD.

However, if this goes well I might consider putting up my complete collection of Infocom games for sale, which are just taking up space. Complete with feelies (somewhat melted in the case of Lurking Horror). Part of the Bumvelcrow Moving House Fund. BuMHoF.

I was raised the same way thankfully or I would have been some slobbering idiot in a wheelchair cursing a cruel, cruel world. That was not how my parents wanted me to be and pushed me constantly to be better and more than any so-called "disability." My father was a firm believer in discipline as well as my backside showed when I was younger, he had zero sympathy for whining and excuses!! :D I have done my best to raise my daughter the same way. Unfortunately, as far as college costs goes, even though she was in the top 10% of her class she was just not high enough. Her mother and I are also very middle-class in our income so we make too much for the number-crunchers but not enough that college expenses really hurt our bottom line! We fall in that middle limbo area where we make too much but not enough and she's "not dumb enough" but not "smart enough" if that all makes sense.
