Hey. :)

Just sharing my first ever Steam Controller config. I made it for NWN, tested it extensively and it now replaces the keyboard and mouse when I play the game. However, it's important you watch the video I made or at least read the description of the video as there are important things you need to know before using the configuration.

Everything you need to know is there. Hope you all enjoy. Cheers. :)

Well, I don't really have much in the way of editing software, and the video was more just a quick demonstration as I was almost finished with the configuration. Considering I had to shoot the same video several times, I'm happy with how it turned out. Which yes, it is quite rough. And it's still all good. :)

Updated the configuration and added trackball mouse function. Feels pretty great, IMO. The game is 99% playable other than anything that requires typing letters, i.e. naming your character in character creation or naming a save file. You *could* just press the face buttons and name your save files with the numbers, i.e. 1-2-3-4. Until someone figures out how to make the Steam Overlay work in this game (as well as other games that use old versions of OpenGL), the advanced features like radial menus and the Steam keyboard will not be available.

Otherwise it plays well and I've played 15+ hours of the Swordflight module completely with the Steam controller. Next level nerding. :)

Changed a few more things recently. They are:

I removed the Action Set switch button. The 2 Action Sets (Exploration / Combat (Optional)) are still there if you want to use them, but since I exclusively use Exploration mode and it could be a bit confusing to switch to each set, I removed the switch. It feels better to control the numbers in dialogue rather than the function keys anyway, IMO.

Next, I re-mapped the face buttons a bit, namely changed the B button to open JUST the inventory, while Y opens the character sheet. It's a lot better now, for reasons you may not have noticed if you didn't use the configuration a lot before. The map has also been changed to the right grip button.

Everything else is the same. Still trying to find a solution to getting the Steam Overlay to work with Neverwinter Nights. If someone could figure that out then even naming your character in character creation and naming save files would work, thus meaning you wouldn't need a keyboard at all to play the game anymore. Someone who is more technically-inclined than I should look into that. From what I know NWN uses an older, somewhat modified version of OpenGL that currently seems to make it incompatible with the Steam Overlay.
