I'm on an actual spaceship. No joke.
I think you will play as a sentient tank in a steampunk world.

Creepily accurate.

Including the speculation? :P

I didn't even notice the speculation heading. Uh, let me see.

Setting is sort of one of these.
Yes, Tim said that.
I have no idea about that - I don't do the facebooks, but he does love Arcanum and those photos probably had more to do with that.
Yes, many team members from AW went to Indiana, but you can get that from Linkedin.

They haven't sleuthed hard enough to find out exactly what sort of game it is. It's a 3rd person action rpg.

Joined in 2011. The fact that it says "console" and not "multiplatform" suggests that may be a reference to Stormlands

But would a cancelled game be called "unannounced"?

If that is Jay Fong's profile it is probably Stormlands. Look how he summarizes his previous experience at Obsidian. So unless he changed up how he lists his projects it's more likely to be Stormlands than Indiana.

Not sure if it has been missed that as Obsidian apparenly owns their new IP, it doesn't sound likely that their partner is a publisher. More probable that they've secured investment to publish it by themselves or start to publish their own games.

Afaik it's very rare that publisher lets the developer to keep the IP, unless it's just distribution deal, but that's becoming less relevant now as games rely less and less on physical distribution.

Yes, but lately things started to change and developers do end up keeping the IP every once in a while. Obsidian-size independent developers practically died out, so the remaining ones probably have more bargaining power.

Assuming Obsidian are looking to get into the publishing business, I don't think they're going to try and have their first experience with a triple A multi platform game.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (SEPTEMBER 18, 2017) - Atari®, one of the world’s most recognized publishers and developers of interactive entertainment via its subsidiary, Vagabond Production Corp., and Fig, the community publisher behind such games as Phoenix Point, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfireand Wasteland 3, today announced a strategic partnership designed to develop and publish two new video games: a reboot of one of Atari’s most beloved intellectual properties and a new IP from Atari.

Any chance this Atari thing is related to Obsidian's secret project?

Hmmm. Atari scored a deal with Fig to support their 2 upcoming crowdfunding projects, one of them a revival of a "beloved classic".

On the other hand, there's this:
On June 22, 2014, Atari announced a new corporate strategy that would include a focus on "new audiences", specifically "LGBT, social casinos, real-money gambling, and YouTube".

Atari isn't really Atari anymore, it's some morons who took over the Atari brand. Same as those cretins who are running around pretending to be Black Isle. It's some tiny company, they have no money to fund an AAA game, why do you think they would have to fund their projects through Fig?

Jason Lewis, senior environment artist who led the Mos Eisley project, started another (presumably personal) Star Wars fan project: a remake of the first level from Dark Forces: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/5lerE

Dark Forces Remake

So being the huge Star Wars Nerd that I am, I really enjoyed the last fan project I did along with several friends of mine, the Mos Eisley UE4 tech demo, so I recently decided to start a new fan project. With the Mos Eisley project, I didn't get to push it as far as I wanted to, namely there were no characters and no game-play in it, so this time I wanted to do something more complete. I was a HUGE fan of the old 1st-person Star Wars shooters from Lucas Arts back in the 90's, so I have started a fan remake of the first level, the Imperial Base. I am striving to take it even further than the Mos Eisley project in terms of visual quality, and also include characters and gameplay similar to the original game. This is probably going to take some time as I don't have a lot of free time these days, but hopefully I can get it done in the not-too-distant future. Here are some VERY EARLY WIP shots out of the 3ds Max viewport.
