He's a new F2P player, so basically he must attend that if he wants ANY ship at all. Unless you want to buy mirror ship from Exchange or Miranda 4 Lyfe. And stop visiting Quinn's office. Never visit Quinn's office.

Why?

Visiting Quinn's office, or its KDF/Romulard equivalent, and claiming your "free" promotion screws you permanently out of the ability to claim a respec in the future, while giving you fuck all in exchange for it. Basically, it's a trap.

Oh, I thought the ship upgrade was nice...

Well it is if you are playing as Cryptic intended and are leveling doing story missions because without C-Store ships you are stuck in a Miranda until lv 20 and then you are stuck with the Ambassador until lv 40 when you can switch to a Mirror ship.

You just lose free respec token you would have gotten if you were subbed.

Of course, doing what you're intended to do in a game is defeat. You don't win if you aren't getting a better outcome than the others are.

Please tell me they made a mistake and the Nandi Jewboat is flying backwards on the picture. Pretty please?
People are going to sperg forever that this fits the Cardassian style (Hideki) while Ferengi design is the other way around... Maybe they were just afraid of the penis head going first.

Also: Hawaii shirts

Nandi warship stat blog. Not much new but still.

One strange thing is that the stats doesn't mention whether or not it can use dual cannons. I assume they just forgot but maybe they decided to create a dedicated beamscort.

The trait also looks pretty damn nice. I'm already kinda fond of drain builds since they synergize pretty well with plasmonic leech and with 4 sci consoles this thing could get some pretty decent flow caps.

Also, apparently the Nandi will have the D'Kora bridge and the ability to transform with the Battle Module 3000 (maybe I should get a D'Kora for my tac ferengi).

Lastly, new leaks about a lot of interesting T6 ships.

Defiant / B'Rel / T'Varo [T6]
Trait: Withering Berrage: Extends duration of Cannon: Scatter Volley by [Variable] Seconds

Armitage Heavy Escort Carrier / Qa'tel Flight Deck Raptor / Jhu'Ael Tactical Warbird Carrier [T6]
Trait: Activating Beam: Overload I, II or III, or Cannon: Rapid Fire I, II, II Grants Beam: Overload I or Cannon: Rapid Fire I to all hangar pets within 10km

T6 Defiant/B'Rel/T'Varo
No real surprise here. And you know what? I think I might actually buy B'Rel. MIGHT. While I am very happy with Martha, the B'Rel just is the Derpidex of dem Klangs.

As for the rest... cryptic will eventually release every T5 ship as a T6 version, laughing in the face of everyone who bought a T5U. Even Oddies and Vestas.
Also not surprised they made the D'Kora console part of the set, I even expected the Lobi console being part of it as well.
Not a fan of drain builds, but I might paint it green and give it to my RomSci Derpa Rectum, ship traits are still rare on my toons.

I don't think that's strange at all: First, it's implicitly assumed by appearance that it CAN. Secondly, nobody gives a shit because "can use cannons" is hardly a selling point anymore.

Yes. You're fucked. It's basically impossible to crew a Romulard ship now unless you're prepared to make, and then backburner, many more Romulard characters to harvest their boffses. There are no other sources of Romulard boffs presently existing in the game. Fortunately, making and levelling Romulards is now the easiest thing.

Norfleet What's your handle?
I feel it's best if I let you figure that out for yourself.

It depends on your definition of "fast", and on which fraction you pick. Assuming you have productive things to be doing either in STO or otherwise, and wish to optimize XP gained for effort invested while not being in an urgent hurry to do it yesterday, yes. I have limited tolerance for horseshit and dislike variety in my grinding, so I avoid episodes, too much bother involved in them. As our resident efficiency expert, if I hate it, you should hate it, too!

alright, i'll start the hate machine as soon as possible. meanwhile, if not episodes, what? at low levels i can't even enter instance but i doubt they'd be populated anyway, high level instances are just barely...

Well, ask me when I catch you in game and I'll give you the rundown of what I have at that point.

i was thinking about something simple like "this nets many xp, and do this instance whenever possible". i'm still too weak to not have at least a bit of fun while playing.

IIRC Romulard story missions already gave more xp overall, so at least episoding until you reach DOFFing age shouldn't be THAT ineffective. But I am curious myself what the "Norfleet school of supereffective xp gaining while removing fun" has cooked up now!
Especially since the KDF doffing missions are not giving the high amount of xp they used to give anymore.

Oh and if you are happy with a blue male supop boff (blue = shittier ground traits), I should have a spare I can give you for cheap. Or less.

Added a bonus Summer Event donation task to give 40 marks for 40 Lohlunat Prize Vouchers.
  • The bonus Summer Event donation task requires the Ferengi Nandi project to be completed on one character on an account.
  • This project has a 20 hour cooldown.

I wonder if this would make it worth it to run the daily with more than one character. 40 marks isn't that much but the floater thing just takes a few minutes to do so it could be worth it in terms of marks per hour.

Answer: No. Floater thing takes maybe ~5m. In 5m, you can complete dailyboxen that will net you 60+.

Conclusion: YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME.

It's official now: Cryptic apparently layed off everyone who had remote knowledge about how the engine works.
Borticus is begging people on twitter to tell him how they managed to build covershields to troll powerboarders. No penalty if you tell him! Pleeeeeeease!
No cash prices though... I'll pass.

Watching them admitting being clueless would be far more entertaining if I weren't still playing this game... Sadface!
