MCA is best used as 'all in, totally in charge of the writing and tone - let someone else do the combat mechanics, sure, but he's still got authority to insert some random shit in without Sawyer complaining that it's not part of the regular mechanics'.

Which aren't many, but's a fine hit-to-miss record: PS:T, KoTOR2, Alpha Protocol - whatever criticisms you might have of those games, their writing and interactivity is amazing. And where they fail, it tends to be a 'swing for the stars' flawed brilliance, than mediocre by-the-numbers crap. Again, I'm only talking about the story-faggotry and interactivity, there's plenty of criticisms to be had for the rest.

Dungeon Siege 3 is the only one I can think of where it was 'his' project and wasn't jaw-dropping in its integration of narrative and gameplay. And even that wasn't too bad for a blatant 'churn this out so we can keep the lights on' project.

His contributions have rarely been great when he's just writing a couple of NPCs, and they can actively detract from a game when he's writing one area. New Reno syndrome - i.e. a portion of the game that is excellent in itself, and has a greater level of choice and reactivity than anywhere else in FO2, but jars and is many players' most hated location because it feels like it was teleported in from a completely different game and genre.

I loved New Reno. Only place in Fo2 where you could be a porn star! But I am one of the rare few that thinks Fo2 >Fo1

Read: Fans are completely retarded and are unable to distinguish between an RPG and a fucking toaster. It was the area that actually made most sense in all the game and offered as you mentioned the best choices and reactivity. Is it better, makes more sense and has better C&C compared to the chinese submarine city, the nuclear power plant manned by zombies and other similar areas? -Yes, yes and yes.

Sometimes I think that you asshats deserve games like DS3, DOS or POE shoved down your throat.
