Sounds like they're changing it to idTech 5, making it cross-platform and have some second developer working on it, alongside Human Head.

Glad Arkane isn't wasting their time on this.

How many people work at Arkane? Don't they have a studio in Europe and one in Texas?

I find Kotaku's butthurt reactions more amusing than Bethesda lying to keep their PR plan intact.

Arkane making a sci-fi System Shock style game makes me rock hard either way.

It's a game being made by a big publisher and it probably will have a huge budget so it'll probably be more Bioshock than SS2.

If RPG Codex were more prominent all those journos would have known not to take Pete "Full of shit" Hines at his word.

Gamespot is reporting that Bethesda again today denied the story, saying "nope."

If this is someone fucking with Kotaku I will love it.

One wonders why they bothered to black out the email addresses. I'm pretty sure Colantonio's company address is public knowledge, and the recipient is your typical "all" alias.

It isn't actually - you could maybe guess it because corporate email addresses at Arkane seem to adhere to the same format (I know Harvey Smith's email -- which isn't really public knowledge either -- and I've just checked Colantonio's and yes it uses that format too), but it isn't listed on Arkane's website or elsewhere. Listing individual corporate addresses isn't really a thing in the games industry, which has caused me some headache/frustration over the past couple of years.

And even if it was public, the purpose would be to protect him from fan hate mail, which is a good thing imo.

Why are people in the comments (or here possibly?) defending Bethesda and Arkane?

This is for once, exactly one of the things that gaming journalism SHOULD do. Uncovering the truth instead of cheering up bullshit.
