I remember their in-game models not being quite as atractive. :D :) :| :(

While Patty really does look pretty ridiculous RPS are equally dumb.

Pyranha have been patriarchal as fuck since Gothic I. :hero:

That felt somewhat in place considering in what kind of time and setting the game took place in tho, I'm not sure why Patty is dressed like a pirate themed porn star in Risen 3 but like pretty much every thing in the game from what I've seen just doesn't fit with any other part. The whole game just seems like a complete mess thematically and aesthetically.

IIRC there are around 5 women in Gothic 1, all similarly clothed as the ones in the above image and they ALL have the same SINGLE LINE spoken by the same voice actor: "Sssh! You're not allowed to talk to us!"

RPS would have a meltdown if they covered Gothic 1.

You're assuming they would actually get that far. They'd just write something about broken combat and stereotypically portrayed prisoners that's perpetuating the prison gang (rape) culture and because you can't pick who you play as the game is racist and sexist. Reading between the lines you would be able to gather that they didn't even get as far as joining up with a faction and that they gave up just after reaching the old camp and getting extorted by a guard.

Gothic was always a sexist series. They stopped being good games meanwhile too. Only the fan made mod with a womyn protagonist (with the help of a bit of continuity defiling) was (not much of) a exception, disregarding i never played Gothic 3.

Finally found some time to play this. Got to Taranis, got blocked by Magnus. Thought "yeah, right", went around using the beach, climbed to the rocks from which you can easily fly as a parrot to the other side of the bridge.

Got blocked by an invisible wall in the air.

PB is basically dead now. If you are EVER wanting something like Gothic or Gothic II you are never ever going to see it from PB any time in the future. Time to wake up.

Will 75% off this during Winter Sale.

Yeah.

PB have earned me trying their games but Risen 2 wasn't worth anywhere near $60 and this one isn't either from the look of things. Will try for $10 or so.

Risen 2 was at least playable, the III isn't. Or maybe it's the timing - suddenly quite a few proper RPGs, why the fuck would someone want to play this?

Yeah. I'm always confused when I see this on here ... "Looks horrible, I won't buy until it's cheap" ... I'm like, are you so desperate to pad out your free time that you have to play EVERY game? Just send me the $10 instead and I'll give you advice on a good game you already have that would actually be fun to play again.

Zombra is right. Either the game is worth playing, and you should spend money on it to give the developer chance of making another one (of course not everyone can afford day 1 prices - I sure as hell cannot), or it is not worth playing, and therefore buying it, even at a heavy discount, is pointless, because it is a net loss (money), with a potential of double loss (money and time wasted trying to play the game).

Then again it's also true that giving the developer 20 bucks instead of 49.99 is exactly 20 bucks better than giving them nothing.

If we get another decade of decline, I could see myself playing it in like 2020 :)
