What the fuck is happening!?

The game is shit. Not even worth of codex's attention (as you can simply deduce from the low number of participants in the game's thread). And from what I see Bubbles is the only one praising this piece of shit.

Then you link the ign review which is more accurate than yours!? Bubbles you fucking retard, the joke is not on ign, the joke is on you. Even those idiots were able to spot correctly that this game as shit while you are praising it because of free game !?

Congratulations for wasting your time and everyone's else.
What did you expect from him, he is only Codexer that said SCL is fun and good based on what they gave him to play when he got a free pass to that game fair. I guess he is easily influenced with free stuff :)

What a clusterfuck of a thread. I've always felt it's a bit lame to criticise how those writing reviews choose to spend the time they're donating to the site, even if it isn't exactly the sort of game I'm interested in. Particularly when (like me) you haven't contributed a review yet. The rage is better saved for the content of the reviews... and the games I guess. +M

Yeah I don't really get the butthurt or harm of what is being reviewed here. I rarely read these for games I've not interest in but never feel the need to yell about it in caps or accuse the mods of a popamole holocaust. Who cares?

If anything, Codex needs a Youtube channel and some assholes with free time and distinguished gentlemen blobert voices to do video reviews of classic RPGs.

Uh, guise, the Codex reviewed OBLIVION, for fuck's sake. Granted, VD shredded it to pieces like the gentleman he is, but still, many seem to be butthurt that Technomancer is being reviewed at all, so there's that.

I dont remember oblivion being reviewed the day of release either. There's not so much butthurt, hardly anyone care about this game.

Also, here is your friendly reminder: there were people here in 2002 who didn't consider Baldur's Gate an RPG.
These people here again, because BG can be called as RPG formally.
Of course there is much more ground for calling BG as RPG then in case of Diablo, but actually BG1 more is a crawler then RPG.

but at least they designed an RPG outside the generic fantasy genre.
I predict, I foresee - over time there will be more science fiction worlds\settings, and less fantasy worlds/settings. Amen.

Sanctuary RPG: Black Edition).
Only if you don't mind the tedious crafting. And when I said tedious I meant exhausting.
Also the only stat you need to win the game is Vit. The rest stats is a trick.

As for rewiev - all like usual for those French - their game have potential, it is solid game in some points, but as usual it suffers from low budget.
At least they can stay in business, and they have opportunity to make a breakthrough someday.
I wish them luck personally.

So, I hate to change the subject of this thread, but what did the rest of you think of the review and of the game?

It sounds like a typical AA game from Spiders/Focus, the same duo that made Of Orcs and Men, Bound by Flame, and Styx if you want to include the stealth genre.
Interesting setting, shitty dialogues, average or slightly better than average story, with a half-ass gameplay that has some good quality to it but still leaning towards the mainstream AAA titles.
I'm just surprised this one came out so....positive? I mean Bubbles did say get it after a 60% off, but shit the review itself seem rather pleasant.

My diagnosis? Not enough buyer's remorse. We need some proper rage to fuel an objective review. :timetoburn:

Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Of Orcs and Men was co-developed by Spiders and Cyanide. Styx was developed solely by Cyanide. Focus Home Interactive are the publishers.

Finished technomancer today. Review is spot on.

I found guardian tree p. great when maxed tbh, only real problem i had with it was that it wasnt good against non biped enemies, against those i mostly relied on traps. Against everything else i was invulnerable and could kill most enemies with just 3-4 hits.
Combat was good, but the amount of trash mobs this game has you go through is just too much, i started feeling sick when i saw a fight coming by the end of the game.

Overall it was definitely better than Mars, but not as good as bound by flame, mostly because bound by flame knew what it wanted to be and did it well, this game, much like Mars reached for the starts but fell short every step of the way.

Can't wait for 80% off. Wonder what they were thinking when setting the current price.

Men, sorry for my melt down. I blame it on the overdose of brofists I recently have received.

Also, Lurker King is right..I really should be working more than shitposting on the codex from work.

the fact that someone played this game instead of a better RPG like the recently released Stranger of Sword City or the in-house Codex translations of Wizardry Empire 2 and Wizardry Gaiden 4 is a fucking crime against humanity and that's why even posting a review of a shit game like Technomancer INSTEAD of posting information about real RPGs like the ones I just mentioned is *wrong*.

That's presuming they haven't already played better games. There is a lot of fucking time you spend alive, and not an unlimited amount of great diversions.

5211 posts. Enough words - and time - to create quite a number of Codex reviews. I take it your review of Wizardry Gaiden 4 is just around the corner?

To be sure, high word count is hardly a guarantee of an enjoyable or even coherent read. I mean, look at those Retinue posts. Guy makes your walls of text seem succinct and concise.

wow, i never thought i'd be pulling the drama game modder card but here it is: when i'm not working i spend my free time translating Wizardry and Wiz-clone games from Japanese to English; and more recently I've been going to the gym in order to lose weight, so I simply don't have time to write editorial content when I could be doing something more meaningful like translating a game into English or transforming my body :)

You do realise that, whether you knew it or not at the time, you've pretty much promised the Codex pics now. Gonna need 'before', 'now' and 'after' to be able to judge, and if the transformation isn't up to scratch then you owe us a goddamn Codex review of the shittiest game we can think of.

We'll get Jaesde to judge.

sure, Azrael the cat, I don't mind at all. I have zero social life outside of the Codex and have shared pictures, and even my phone number and home adress before on this loving, forgiving and amazing community of System Shock remake information updaters.

I'll post pictures of me before my divorce in 2013, when I weighed a svelt 160 lbs, then over the course of 2014 and 2015 I ballooned up to 230-240 lbs.

i haven't weighed myself since I started working out / controlling my caloric intake about 1 month ago but i've gone from size 36 cargo shorts, to size 34 cargo shorts (depending on brand).

my goal is to get back to my previous weight of 160-165 lbs, except without resorting to extreme drug use.

i'll take the pics later tonight. BTW, translating wizardry empire 1 alone made me gain like 15 lbs. i do not recommend doing what amounts to a 2nd job sitting in front of a monitor typing for hours and hours (i.e. translating) after doing the exact same type of thing in your real job. that double-duty desk-jockyeing really fucked my body up; enough so that it made me wake the fuck up and start taking care of myself again.

it's not :)

been clean and sobre from cocaine, heroin and crack for the last 5 months of 2014, the entirety of 2015 and onwards. that is actually why i am so fat :)

i took the divorce very hard and tried to kill myself twice by pill overdose, then i totaled my car against a lamppost and a wall, and then i spent about the entirety of 2013 and the 1st half of 2014 trying to kill myself via crack and heroin. eventually things reached the point where i simply cut off all contact with every single person i knew, since every person i knew was a drug addict, and moved back in w/ my parents and have been eating like a pig and focusing on other things (such as translating wizardry games, for example) ever since.

here is a picture of me in sixth grade, top-right corner:

here is a picture of me about 2 years into my ex marriege, i believe circa 2012 when i was working as asist. manager of the electronics dept. @ the local k-mart, and also this is the best shape i have ever been in my entire life as i was drug-free, eating ealthy, in love, and working out regularly:

this is a picture i took while lying in a hammock; the left side is the dark shadow from the balcony, the middle is the hammock orange rope, and the right side is the sky. no filters or nothing, just angling for the right lighting/pic:
