So then... On to the Ultima 7 series at long last?

As much as you may be tempted, Exult at last look had a couple of very serious bugs that could be game-enders. May have changed in the last year but I suggest you double check.

I mist admit I skipped the Ultima 7 games; I just hate the UI. Was hoping for a Dungeon Siege or similar remake, but that doensn't look like it's gonna happen. So I ended up just reading a Let's Play of U7 in preperation for Ultima Underworld 2.

Dragon Age 2 without a doubt, just fucking retarded squeeing shit for BSN freaks, logical end result of all the streamlining shit that we've seen in games since the decline started. Say what you want about the Ultimas (and they do have real problems) but when a near thirty year old game series has a bigger, more vibrant, well designed and responsive world than the latest AAA+ million dollar BEST GAME EVAH, well you know something's gone seriously wrong somewhere.

Fucks sake Obs made New Vegas in same timeframe as DA2, and that was fucking majestic, shows what a shitstain Bioware's become.

Pity. I might be one of the few but I love the U7 (UO) inventory and paperdoll/status system. I did really appreciate how much better dialog was in the underworld games though.

Have you not played UnderworldII yet?

Played UU2 last year, after an aborted attempt 20 years ago. It was more fun when I "knew" the NPCs better. Last time I had only played U4 and UU1, and most of the NPCs roaming around the castle were "strangers" to me.

Obliviturd and Failderp 3 are the uncrowned kings of shitty cRPGs and in fact of so called "AAA" PC games in general for me and I tried hard even with mods to make them enjoyable for more than a few hours. It failed because they are so fundamentally shitty in all important aspects like game mechanics, main story, overall execution and in part even presentation.

Obliviturd was the last full priced game I bought from Bethderp. Since then I pirated them or waited until 75% or more sales off or refused to play them at all. After Failtard 4 though I gave up completely. Their games are not even worth pirating, just barely worth watching parody videos on YT about them.

Skyrim(without mods. Mods make it a good hiking/porn simulator.)
Mass Effect 2&3(not even RPGs).
The Witcher 1
Pillars of Glitchternity
Dragon Age - all of them
Deus Ex Human Revolution(I tried to finish it 3 times, but I'd rather drink spinach tea)
Diablo 3
Darkest Dungeon

Reading this thread, the consensus here seems to be that there are less than a dozen RPGs ever made that are even worth playing. Honestly for me, the only one that I can think of that I just can't play is Titan Quest. It's got the most horribly bland gameplay I've ever experienced.

Scroll down.

Wanted to love it, am still excited by the skill system and choosing two specs to create a class. It just moves at a glacial pace in every way. The enemies don't change for almost entire acts, the leveling speed is permanently set at a crawl, there is loot falling from the sky, but none of it means anything. Honestly, this genre barely qualifies as RPGs for me after the first two Diablo games, they are really just loot slot machines. But Titan Quest and Torchlight are the worst offenders. I have Grim Dawn and feel the same way. There is too little variation in setting and enemies for much too long periods of time for games that are supposed to be fast paced romps.

My greatest disappointment was Gothic 3. I had eagerly anticipated it for so long, and at release it was the most broken bug-ridden piece of shit game I had ever played. Because of that experience I'd still rank it as my worst.

All the people in this thread saying shit like Skyrim and FO3 certainly haven't seen much, I must say.

One really bad example that sticks out to me is Quest 64. Christ, that was dull, generic, and uninspired.

Arcanum (overrated)
Planescpae Torrent (overrated times a million)
Skyrim (Oblivion was at least cheesy)
Wizardry 7
Secret of Mana
That scary RPG maker game everyone likes

Edit: to say at least something productive, in my opinion the worst games are the ones you spend a lot of time on only because people told you how good they're. Then after 30-40 hours you realize it was a big waste of time and you didn't like a thing about the game.
